ODE TO THE TIRELESS TORCHBEARER — HON. Mala Tijjani Ngala (MTN)
SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON WORKS AND HOUSING

In the realm where duty calls without end,
Stands a man, both servant and friend.
Hon. Mala Tijjani Ngala steadfast and wise,
With fire in his heart and truth in his eyes.

No dawn too early, no dusk too late,
He walks with purpose, guided by fate.
Through sun and storm, he does not tire,
His soul ignited with service fire.

Ngala’s proud son, ever on the move,
With every brick, his promise to prove.
From roads to shelters, his hands restore,
A nation’s dream, built from the core.

While others rest beneath the shade,
He labors on, unafraid.
No day off, no silent night —
Only the mission, only the light.

Now on sacred duty in Ngala’s land,
He lifts the people with willing hand.
A shepherd of structures, hope, and grace,
He leaves his footprints in every place.

O noble steward, your name shall ring,
Where progress rises and children sing.
For you have taught with silent might,
That service is honor, and toil is right.

So we salute you — heart and hand,
The builder of dreams across this land.
Mala Tijjani Ngala, may your path be bright,
Our beacon in the longest night.

EDUCATION SECRETARY CONTINUES SCHOOL SUPERVISION VISITS ACROSS MAGUMERI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

In a strong show of practical leadership and commitment to quality education, the Education Secretary of Magumeri Local Government Area continued his school supervision tour today, Tuesday, 16th July 2025.

His visits began at Hoyo Primary school, Central Primary School and continued to Islamiya Primary School, where he interacted directly with teachers, school heads, and students.

During an important meeting with head teachers and teaching staff, the Secretary emphasized the need for proper lesson planning and effective teaching methods, saying they are key to better learning outcomes. He also reminded teachers to consistently check and mark students’ notebooks, describing them as important tools for tracking each learner’s progress.

While addressing the staff, the Secretary announced a new initiative aimed at improving teaching quality across schools in the LGA. He said all teachers will soon be tested through practical classroom teaching, so that each teacher can be assigned to subjects that match their area of strength and mastery. “We want to place the right teacher in the right subject,” he explained, “to ensure better learning for our pupils.”

During the same session, a teacher raised a concern about delays in receiving the newly approved minimum wage. In response, the Secretary calmly assured them that, In Shaa Allah (by God’s will), all outstanding salary matters would soon be resolved.

He also made a bold promise that under his leadership, significant change is coming to the education system in Magumeri—and that the results “will surprise everyone.”

Additionally, the Secretary announced plans for an upcoming stakeholders’ and teachers' meeting where key issues concerning the next academic term will be discussed in detail.

In a major highlight of the day, the Secretary received a large supply of educational kits and hygiene materials donated by Save the Children International, in partnership with LABDI. These materials—which include books, writing tools, and sanitary supplies—are meant to support both in-school and out-of-school children.

At the handover ceremony, he thanked Save the Children for their support and assured them that the items would be used effectively to benefit the intended learners. He added that visible changes are already beginning to take shape and that his administration is fully prepared to take Magumeri’s education to a higher standard.

Later in the day, while addressing a group of students, the Secretary announced that distribution of the kits will begin tomorrow, In Shaa Allah. He encouraged all learners—whether in regular schools or alternative learning centres—to participate fully. He urged them to remain focused and dedicated, reminding them that many of today’s leaders were once students like them. “If you work hard and stay disciplined,” he said, “In Shaa Allah, you too will grow into great leaders.”

The day wrapped up with a strategic meeting at the Local Government Education Authority office where the Secretary met with representatives from Save the Children to discuss the ongoing educational interventions across Magumeri local Government Area.

Clearly, the current administration is moving with purpose—bringing fresh energy, renewed hope, and steady progress to the educational future of Magumeri LGA.
