I remember watching this at 11 years old, staying up at 11:30 pm to catch it. I can tell you that I had to beg my parents to stay up that late! It only aired once and have been looking for years to see if still existed to be able to view it again. Now many, many years later, 50 + years in fact, it finally showed up on you tube. This is the ABC Wide World Of Entertainment episode; Walt Disney: A Golden Anniversary Salute from 1973.
I remember this running a full hour and a half and caught every minute of it. Fortunately most of the commercials are missing, bringing this down to a cool 59 minutes. It was pretty much the way I remembered it, with Dean Jones formally dressed, walking around Main Street at Disneyland after hours. Jones hosts and features a few Disney Legends, Card Walker, Woolie Reitherman, Fred MacMurray, Ward Kimball and Annette Funicello, who talk about Walt. It even features a section of animation from their 'upcoming' animated feature, Robin Hood, that features a section of the film in various stages; storyboard to rough pencil animation to full color. Although the special is rough around the edges and not as slick as documentaries today go, it's still a fascinating insight with some of Disneys key players at the time. I figured some of you might really enjoy this.

Yes, if you liked this movie, say so!!!! Spread the word by sharing these posts to your friends. It will be amazing how much good this will do. If there's a surge of momentum on the box office front, this movie might be a sleeper hit.

To our loyal fanbase,
People have been asking about what's going on with Cartoonerific News and The Cartoonerific Podcast.
To alleviate any fears, we plan on continuing in the near future but have decided to take a break to re-evaluate the shows.
While we have a small but loyal audience, the show hasn't grown in listenership over the last year, so we've decided to take a step back and take a closer look to see why.
Today, there's a great number of animation and cartoon podcasts out there to choose from and some have exploded in a relatively short time (some in-fact are really very good!).
The Cartoonerific Podcast has been around for two and a half years.
We've been told that we have a great professional sounding show from all the feedback, but even with that it hasn't translated to a growing audience.
And that's a big problem for a lot of reasons, especially from a financial standpoint.
The investment in these shows has been significant; Studio rentals, equipment, utilities, hosting fees, promotion, supply costs plus the expense of time for producing over 100 episodes has left us with zero return on investment.
We haven't asked anything of our audience other than telling your friends about us (or by sharing links). Figuring out how to make our shows profitable has been a tough nut to crack but we're intent on making that happen as we believe we need to change direction on the way we're doing things.

But before we continue on, we need your help.

We'd like to hear your opinions about Cartoonerific News and The Cartoonerific Podcast.
We don't want your criticisms; we only want constructive comments about how to make both shows better.
In short, what would you like to hear on the shows?
Do you want shorter interviews?
Do you want a more diverse show with multiple segments?
What's the ideal length of a show for you?
Do you want more mainstream interviews with more 'famous' guests?

And if you're happy with the shows as-is, please let us know that as well.

Your feedback will be seriously considered as we really want to create the shows that you want to hear.

And once we figure out a new game plan for re-tooling and promoting these shows, we will be back!

Thank you everyone for your loyal support.
All the best-
Brian Mitchell

Here's a Hamms Beer commercial that Cartoonerific Host Brian Mitchell animated on in 1988, mainly of the Duck and The Hamms Bear!

Enjoying these old commercials and content? The best way to support the channel is to go to my eBay store, Obsolete Treasures, which features lots of vintage...

Here's a Hilarious Jay Ward Dudley Do-Right cartoon that was supposedly destroyed years ago, because some-how, it offended some government folks back in Washington. The episode was poking fun at Smokey The Bear with a character called 'Stokey' the Bear, a mischievous bloke who started fires rather than extinguishing them!

We hope everybody has been enjoying the end of summer! We took a much needed break at Cartoonerific Headquarters and are anxious to get back to business with new interviews for the rest of 2024! A new show about animated titles in feature films and television series will be uploaded this Friday September 6th at 11 PM EST. The Cartoonerific News with Host Marjorie is on a temporary hiatus but should return this fall. Thanks to everyone for inquiring!
