𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟮: In its continuous drive against the menace of drugs, District Police Reasi achieved a major success during the intervening night when a vigilant team of Police Station Katra apprehended two drug peddlers at P*P Nomain and recovered a significant quantity of heroin-like substance from their possession.

The accused have been identified as 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 𝗦/𝗢 𝗟𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗻 𝗥/𝗢 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗵𝘀𝗶𝗹 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦/𝗢 𝗜𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗥/𝗢 𝗔𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗿 𝗝𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗼, 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮.

Upon their interception and subsequent frisking, the police team recovered approximately 𝟳.𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗻-𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. The contraband was seized on the spot as per legal procedure and both individuals were taken into custody.

In this connection, 𝗙𝗜𝗥 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟬𝟵/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗨/𝗦 𝟴/𝟮𝟭/𝟮𝟮/𝟮𝟵 𝗡𝗗𝗣𝗦 Act stands registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to ascertain the backward and forward linkages of the drug network.

SSP Reasi 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 -𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦, has once again reiterated the firm resolve of Reasi Police to eradicate the drug menace from society and appealed to the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug smuggling or abuse. Reasi, July 15, 2025:
Continuing its firm action against drug peddling in the holy town of Katra, today at around 1100 hours, a police team deployed at Ban Ganga Katra intercepted a suspicious individual riding a motorcycle bearing registration number JK06C-3907, coming from Katra side towards Ban Ganga.

During the routine checking, the individual was stopped and questioned by the alert police party. He identified himself as Vikram Bandral S/O Sh. Hans Raj R/O Main Chowk Tikri, Udhampur, presently residing at SMVD Track, Purana Daroor, Ban Ganga, Katra.

Upon thorough search of his belongings, one black-colored polythene bag containing approximately 509.930 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 201/2025 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to unearth forward and backward links of the narcotics network.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: Acting swiftly on routine surveillance duties, a team from Police Station Katra apprehended a foreign national who had illegally entered Indian territory without valid travel documents.

On 11/07/2025, during a flying squad deployment, the police party from P/S Katra was performing routine checking duties. At around 1400 hours, when the team reached Asia Chowk, they observed a suspicious individual attempting to conceal himself upon noticing the police presence. The alert police personnel immediately intercepted him.

Upon questioning, the individual identified himself as Md. Fahim Ahmed S/O Md. A Salam R/O Bangladesh. During frisking, a Bangladesh identity card was recovered from his possession. However, he failed to produce any valid travel documents, visa or passport to justify his presence in India.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the individual had entered Indian territory through unauthorized means, violating immigration laws. Accordingly, FIR No. 200/2025 U/S 14A(b) of the Foreigners Act, 1946 has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind his illegal entry and possible links.

Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 -𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 reiterated that District Police Reasi remains committed to ensuring the safety & security of the district and urges citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police unit.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟬𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱:A ceremonial piping ceremony was held today at Police Station Pouni and the SP Office Katra to honor the dedication and professional excellence of police personnel recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI).

At P/S Pouni, the ceremony was graced by Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵-𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 who personally decorated the shoulders of the promoted officers with new rank. A parallel ceremony at SP Office Katra was presided over by Superintendent of Police Katra, 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻, 𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦, who carried out the piping for the promoted officers under his jurisdiction.

In his address, SSP Reasi 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵-𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 congratulated the newly promoted officers, emphasizing that promotion is not merely a reward but a renewed call to serve with greater zeal, integrity, and professionalism. He encouraged the officers to continue exhibiting discipline and commitment, further strengthening the department’s bond with the public.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟬𝟯: Continuing its firm stance against illegal activities, District Police Reasi today carried out two significant enforcement actions — one targeting illegal mining and the other aimed at curbing illicit liquor smuggling.

𝟭. 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮

A tractor-trolley loaded with illegally mined quarry stones extracted from Pamote Nallah, Katra was seized by the police team. The vehicle, found without a registration number plate, was operating in violation of mining and transportation laws.

The tractor bearing Chassis No. 0072144558C01 was seized on the spot. The matter has been referred to the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Reasi, for appropriate legal action and proceedings under relevant sections of mining laws.

𝟮. 𝟯𝟬 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶 𝗟𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱; 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱

In a separate action, Reasi Police intercepted a scooty rider during a routine checking at Nomain, enroute from Jammu to Katra and recovered 30 quarters (250 ml each) of JK Special Desi Whiskey suspected to be smuggled for illegal sale.

The accused has been identified as Sanjeev Sharma S/O Bachan Lal R/O Mishriwala, Jammu, who was riding Scooty No. JK02CB-8960.

A case FIR No. 187/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS has been registered at P/S Katra and further investigation is in progress.
