Second edit: If you want some insurance, holler at me!🙋🏼‍♀️ (That’s my real job and I can talk legit claims all day.) No water went in the house, no claim was made, it’s not an insurance grab.

Edit: Of all my posts to go viral 😂😂 It is stated below but..
1. Not my house (but that is my husband lol).
2. The house did not flood because we were able to keep the water level below the door thresholds. 🥳
3. We were pushing water to the garage which sloped to the driveway - I just didn’t video the view from the other side. It is not being pushed into the house! 😂

Slow moving storms are where the flood risk happens and this one is in no hurry! It’s trying to move east out of Paris but it will still be a while. Do NOT attempt to drive in downtown and stay off all flooded roads! Blossom and Detroit take this as your heads up before it moves your way.

This is at my friend’s house off of 195 just to give an idea how much water was coming down. We were pushing it out to the garage to the sloped driveway to keep it from going in the main doors.

Paris and surrounding areas is flooding. Do not attempt to drive through any water over roads. I’m currently helping the bestie’s house not flood so no updates on my end for a bit. Stay off the roads!!

We could see wind gusts up to 40-50 mph and small hail with these storms but most will just get a good rain. The main risk is still flood.

I’ve spent my entire life scared of tornados and honestly, rain has never crossed my mind as a “severe” threat. We have all ignored flash flood warnings or had the thought “it’s just rain.” Especially in Texas where July rain has always been an answered prayer.

That being said, it’s going to be another stormy wet weekend and the chance for flooding is present across the state including northeast Texas.

I am not concerned about the typical severe threats - tornados, winds, hail etc. Our risk profile is low across the board so the panic-odometer is also low. However, you do need to watch the rainfall and flooding risk if you are in a low area.

I know none of us need to be told to take flood warnings seriously now. But please, take it seriously. If you live by or have camping plans near a body of water, make precautions and stay weather aware.

We have a really low chance of storms this evening. IF we see anything it would be gusty winds and rain after 7-8ish. I won’t be updating unless the risk increases.

I am in Dallas for The Lion King, so this is a little late.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hakuna Matata!
The only concern tonight is gusty wind that could reach 50 mph in places. No tornado threat or anything too severe. Possibly very small hail in a few places.

Edit: Storms held off for the evening but there is another possible round overnight around 3. I don’t expect it to be anything worth staying up for. More than likely it will miss us, as well.

Slight risk for this afternoon/evening (~9-10ish). The biggest threat is large hail if it can get southeast enough to be our problem. Get the cars in the garage and anchor the trampolines.
