Former Representative Larry P. Younquoi has disclosed that the NRI plantation has the potential to provide significant benefits to workers and surrounding communities if proper advocacy is undertaken.

According to the former lawmaker, the proposed benefits include an annual scholarship fund of US$10,000 and its management, well-furnished housing units with access to electricity for workers, land rental payments to affected communities, and a community share of revenue from every rubber production on the plantation.

Mr. Younquoi emphasized that these opportunities can only be realized through strong engagement and effective advocacy by the current district lawmaker with the company and relevant stakeholders.

He called on the incumbent representative to take the necessary steps to ensure that these potential benefits are secured for the workers and host communities, noting that such efforts would contribute to improved livelihoods and sustainable community development.
