Sometimes words just aren’t enough to hold the weight of our experiences, so we turn to music.

Playing on Repeat is a song I wrote after losing someone I loved far too soon. No matter how we lose someone, it’s never easy, and often it’s harder than we expect. Grief is one of those experiences that comes and goes in many varying stages, for an unknown amount of time.

“Your love is just a ghost, your voice is an echo playing on repeat in my heart,” is a lyric about how their voice or their laugh is so ingrained in your mind, you can imagine it long after they’re gone. It’s almost like they’re still present with you.

I hope this song brings comfort to anyone who’s walked through grief like this. 💜

Hi, I’m Melody. Serial creative, mom, and entrepreneur. I always dreamed of being able to do all the things I love for a living: video, photo, music, web design—I just didn’t know the road to get there would be this one.

MJ Media Productions was created in one of the hardest seasons of my life. I had just endured narcissistic and spiritual abuse, was navigating C-PTSD, and I needed something that could provide for me and my daughter while giving me the flexibility to heal.

So I took what I had—my skills, my creativity, my determination—and poured every ounce of pain, anger, and heartbreak into building something. MJ Media wasn’t just a business; it became my lifeline and my outlet. Every project, every shoot, every design was a way to turn hurt into healing, pain into passion, survival into empowerment.

It hasn’t been an easy or “pretty” journey. But grit is part of my story. And over time, the work that began as a way to get back on my feet has grown into a business I deeply love—helping other entrepreneurs and businesses tell their stories through video, photography, and design.

Some dreams are born from comfort. Others, like mine, rise out of fire. 🔥 And sometimes, that’s where the most powerful stories begin. So if you’re going through it right now, and you’re sitting on a dream waiting until after the storm passes—just start. Start with what you have and take small steps forward.
