Justin here with some of my Week 1 takes. The AFC West will be a fight til the end. Chargers and Broncos look legit. You never know what you’ll get from Black and Silver Raiders Nation, and I expect the Chiefs to make adjustments and bounce back. Coach Reid is one of the best at knowing what he has and finding what works.
Indy chopped up the Phins, who didn’t really have a pulse today. Pats lost but with Vrabel as a coach and Drake Maye at QB, they are still a maybe good/maybe bad team. Cleveland Brahns and Cinci Bengals had a typical AFC North Slug fest in a low scoring 1 possession game. Is Green Bay going to be a squad with the addition of Micah Parsons on Defense? Will Detroit have growing pains with Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn leaving their coaching staff?
Aaron Rodgers as expected played with a chip on his shoulder and may be that addition the Steelers needed to lead the Yinzer Nation on a playoff run this year. The other side of the field had a Jets offense that showed lots of life scoring over 30 points. Justin Fields, though at times looking like a conservative play calling scheme hamstringed him, looked really good. Descent passes and some quick moves to escape tackles and earns some good gains. The Jets OLine gave Breece some holes to run through and Breece ran for over 140yards. Even if Jets aren’t playoff bound this year, they will be solid watchable football. As a Jets fan that’s all we can ask for , with a new coach and QB.
