*Sikh from Amritsar killed in Srinagar*

Srinagar, Feb 07 (KS):- A Sikh from Amritsar was shot dead in Shal Kadal area of Central Kashmir Srinagar on Wednesday evening.

A top police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a Sikh from Amritsar was shot at by terrorists in Shal kadal area of Srinagar.

He said that sikh identified as Amrit Pal (31) from Amritsar Punjab died on the spot.

Meanwhile forces have cordoned off the area to nab attackers.(KA)

Unpopular opinion on recent installation of Bandha Singh Bahadur statue in Jammu. Part 1:

Now since a huge event was organised for inauguration, too much celebration, here is my opinion why this entire celebration was fundamentally so wrong.

— from a very long time Sikhs of Jammu demanded installation of statue at Kunjwani Chowk which is main entry to Jammu city from Jammu- Pathankot national highway.

— however statue was installed in the periphery area of Bhagwati nagar in another part of city where you have negligible Sikh community presence, neither statue will have enough visibility. Neither people who are coming to Jammu or going to Kashmir will be able to see it

- Now when Sikhs celebrated it and thanked admin for the same, I am asking each one of you what you are actually thanking. Banda Singh bahadur is one of the key figure in the Sikh history and someone who hails originally from J&K deserved much better but all you got happy with statue, which I personally found so irrelevant. You could have demanded college on his name, a chair in university, or even statue at kunjwani Chowk original demand would have been enough to enjoy celebration. Now what’s relevance of statue in Bhagwati nagar which I am sure 99% won’t even see since it’s altogether a different part of the city.

—- to all leaders on stage, what have you achieved at all for Sikhs. We lost Punjabi lanaguge, we couldn’t get any sort of reservation for Sikhs specially in Kashmir who are not migrated since they are on the brink to end in Kashmir, any sort representation and reservation. Sikh community of J&K has lost its vision, as history student trust me we were better before, despite having so much education, you write same old memorandum from kashmir to Jammu and same is given by everyone to everyone and out come is zero. Think and reflect, Are these celebration worth where original demands are not even accepted. Your real battles and struggles are not even recognised, is it worth to say ‘thank you’ in these ,,, in nutshell it's all for vote bank..
