.art: a mission-driven engagement nestled in a nook of northwestern Massachusetts.

Quirky, quaint, and handpicked—TOURISTS hosted the inaugural programming along State Road in North Adams, like a dinner party thrown by your friend’s obscure coworker… the one you didn't expect to love.

With sensory hits from Chef Mina Stone, in-house DJ April Hunt, and LODGE Talks featuring voices from some of the country’s most forward-thinking museums and institutions—this was no ordinary art fair.

‘Currents’ at reimagines Southern identity through the fluid lens of heritage, migration and myth told by 16 powerful voices shaping the region’s evolving story.

“Through work that emphasizes movement, journey, mapping, exchange and transference, the exhibition complicates notions of Southern identity as something static or unitary, instead viewing it as a confluence of various currents, constantly in motion, made and remade in relation to what came before.”

Dan Colen’s Sky High Farm Biennial () returns to Germantown with TREES NEVER END AND HOUSES NEVER END—a site-specific exhibition blurring the lines between art, agriculture, and intimacy. Set in a former apple cold storage warehouse along the Hudson River, the show features over 50 artists including Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Tschabalala Self, and Rirkrit Tiravanija, each responding to the farm’s mission of care, community, and connection.

The Biennial becomes more than a show—it's a space for presence, memory, and new ways of seeing.

New exhibition “Roman Meal" by Kathleen Ryan () is now open at Davies Street, London.

Known for turning the strange into eye catching displays, Ryan’s work blurs the line between beauty and decay—rotting food sculpted from thousands of rhinestones and gems.

Her first solo debut features two large-scale pieces: “Sliced Bread (Golden Hour),” a moldy slice leaning against the wall, and “Fender Bender,” a pair of jeweled lemon wedges resting against each other.

Marie Chloè-Duval’s (.art) MFA exhibition at the New York Studio School uses layered oil paintings to explore societal structures, blending abstraction and figuration to critique norms, reveal tensions, and suggest hope within a fragmented, fast-paced world.

For this week’s edition of Art Militant we focus on the evolution of thought behind international painter and recent graduate of The School, Marie Chloè-Duval’s oil paintings.
