AREA REVIVAL 2025
Word Ministration
Speaker: Elder Eno-obong I. Emmanuel
Text: John 8:32
Theme: Total Freedom through the Finished Work of Christ.
Introduction
The term FREEDOM is an integral part of the salvation story of humanity. The goal of the finished work of Christ centres on granting all of humanity the legal right to speak, act, and profess the Lordship of our saviour, Jesus Christ. According to the Bible, true freedom is found in knowing and obeying God's truth, which liberates individuals from the bo***ge of sin and the control of a world ruled by Satan. It's a freedom that enables individuals to be who God created them to be, living in a relationship with Him and fulfilling their true purpose in life today. This day marks the moment Jesus publicly declared His intention to the entire universe as the saving King for both physical and spiritual Israel; in response, we shout Hosanna to Him.
The speaker highlighted several concepts that led to the freedom of humanity:
God created man so that he should always be with Him; as such, He created man in His image and gave him five domains to dominate:
1. His Image
2. His Likeness
3. His Presence
4. His Life
5. His Law
Man, out of necessity, did not get what God wanted for him and tilted to another side of life that brought him to eternal doom.
Jesus came to die and save man from this doom, so when He said, "It is Finished", he meant that salvation is guaranteed, no more sorrow, no more weeping.
Looking at the words "it is finished", you see an important word: salvation, and the next thing you will see is freedom. (John 8:32).
The speaker shed more light on the concept of total Freedom, which is not the one where you get free today and get back in bo***ge tomorrow. God has freed you, and you are free indeed. For whom the son of God has set free is free indeed, for God’s insight freedom dated back in Genesis chapter 12. God asked Abraham to leave his father's land and the Israelites who were in bo***ge for years.
REASONS FOR MAN'S FREEDOM
• You are of God (1 John 4:4).
• You know the truth.
• Your Redeemer is strong. (Jer. 50:32)
• You are too important to bound.
The speaker concluded that Jesus came to die on the Cross and said, "It is Finished". This freedom in totality.
