A rare photo of the Kenilworth Castle stable block from 1900, compared to its slightly restored appearance today.

Built in 1553, it was a masterpiece of architecture for its time. A survey from 1563 said the timber-framed structure had '30 rooms for great horses and 20 for geldings.'

The Grade II* listed Tudor House in Long Itchington was originally built as an inn in the 15th century.

It is reputed to have hosted Queen Elizabeth I during her travels - she is said to have stayed here in 1572 when the house was owned by the Earl of Leicester.

The 14th century Huer's Hut in Newquay, Cornwall was historically used by the 'huer,' a lookout who would spot shoals of pilchards and alert local fishermen by shouting "Hevva, Hevva!" (Here they are) or using a horn.

The Grade 2 listed hut on the cliff top features a large medieval Cornish chimney, a narrow stairway to the flat roof, two windows with drip moulds and an early fireplace.

The 14th century Raby Castle, one of the most impressive intact castles in England, engraved in 1776 compared to today.

In 1648, during the English Civil War, Royalists besieged it, causing minimal damage. However, in the 18th century, the 1st Lord of Barnard, angered by his son's marriage, partially dismantled the moated castle in revenge - it was eventually rebuilt and restored.

Here's how Eaton Hall, located on the outskirts of Chester, looked in 1890 compared to its much changed appearance today.

The extravagant house was originally built in 1675, however, due to deterioration it was demolished in 1963 and rebuilt, though the chapel, clock tower and stables were preserved.
