Kano Gov. Pledges Full Support for President Tinubu’s National Security Emergency

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Kano State’s total and unreserved support for the National Emergency on Security recently declared by the Federal Government.

This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday.

Speaking during the 34th Kano State Executive Council Meeting held at Government House, Kano, on Thursday, Governor Yusuf praised President Tinubu for taking bold and decisive steps to confront the escalating security challenges facing the country, particularly in the Northern region.

“I therefore reiterate the full cooperation of the Government of Kano State at this moment, and assure all security agencies operating in the state of our unwavering support and collaboration to ensure the success of this declaration,” the Governor affirmed.

Governor Yusuf also addressed internal security concerns within Kano State, restating his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents.

He expressed concern over reports of bandits infiltrating some Local Government Areas, especially within the Northern Senatorial District, but assured citizens that the state government, in synergy with security agencies, is taking proactive measures to neutralize the threats.

“Despite isolated challenges, citizens should remain calm and be reassured that the government is fully alert, proactive, and more determined than ever to counter all emerging threats,” he said.

The Governor further appreciated the people of Kano for their continuous support and confidence in the administration.

He revealed that the 2026 Budget would significantly enhance the standard of living of ordinary citizens, with strong prioritization of infrastructural development and human capital growth.

It is with profound sadness, yet with complete submission to the will of Allah, that I received the news of the passing of our spiritual father and scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

Throughout his blessed and impactful life, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi was a beacon of Islamic knowledge and sincere guidance. Through his numerous Islamic institutions and Tafsir sessions that drew millions, he nurtured generations with sound Islamic teachings, moral excellence, and love for the Qur’an and Sunnah.

His legacy as a statesman, peacemaker, and unifier will forever remain etched in our hearts and in the history of our nation.

On behalf of my family and associates, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, his students, and the government and people of Bauchi State.

May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen. - RMK
