'Pakistan May Launch Another Pahalgam-Like Attack', Warns Lt Gen Katiyar, Assures India's Response
Western Army Chief Lt Gen Manoj Katiyar warned that Pakistan may attempt another Pahalgam-like attack, and affirmed that it would invite a strong response from India.
Western Army Commander Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar on Tuesday cautioned that Pakistan may attempt to replicate the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, wherein 26 civilians had lost their lives.
In a stern warning to the neighbouring country, Katiyar also warned that any fresh attempt at cross-border mischief would invite a “strong response" from India.
Speaking on India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, the large-scale counter-terror operation launched along the western border, Lt Gen Katiyar said, “In ‘Operation Sindoor’, Pakistan was given a befitting reply, but Pakistan can never mend its ways."
“Pakistan could launch another attack like the one in Pahalgam, we have our eyes on every one of its moves," he said.
Reaffirming India’s readiness, the Western Command chief added, “If Pakistan indulges in such mischief again, it will face a strong response."
In September this year, too, the Indian Army had assured that if Pakistan again indulges in cross-border terrorism, then this time, the punishment would be colossal.
Manoj Kumar Katiyar, speaking to the media, had said that Pakistan wants to continue the confrontation with India for its own vested interests.
He said, though he is sure that Pakistan should not carry out any other misadventure, but it cannot be ruled out, adding that ‘Operation Sindoor’ had not yet concluded.
‘Operation Sindoor’, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, was aimed at neutralising infiltrating terrorist groups and dismantling their launch pads across the Line of Control.
Earlier this month, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh had said that at least a dozen Pakistani military aircraft, including F-16 jets, were destroyed or damaged in Indian strikes during ‘Operation Sindoor’, as he countered Islamabad’s claim of India’s losses as “fanciful stories".
