Collection dates are Sunday, October 31 from 12PM- 6PM and Monday, November 1 from 12PM - 8PM.

Location: GBC Boutique
1103 E 34th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11210

We are collecting the following items:

Tarps, rice, beans, small bottles of cooking oil, spaghetti, carnation milk, oatmeal, cornmeal, tomato paste, soap, toothpaste, tooth brush, deodorant, baby wipes, hand sanitizers, masks, lanterns, flashlights, AA batteries, D batteries, tents, sleeping bags.

We ask that you please stick to the specific items on the list.

I felt my ugliest during my postpartum. Worse than I felt since that awkward high school stage where your body begins changing; developed but not quite yet.

I never had to worry about acne as a teenager but my face acted wild. Something about extra hormones can do your body so badddd. My face was the worse it’s ever been.

And of course no matter how much coconut oil or Shea butter I rubbed on my belly I still got stretch marks on my lower stomach. My belly deflated right after giving birth, like someone really popped a balloon. Lol. And they say, that too is a reason some women get stretch marks; tummy retreating too fast.

After all of this I looked at myself, looked at my baby and said wow I really went through it. I look a fu***ng mess. Lol.

So, hello let me reintroduce myself, I am 🦋]. After taking some much needed time to bond with my baby and embrace all my “imperfections” as society might like to call it. I am feeling like myself again.

This post is a reminder to all the postpartum or expecting mothers out there, that even though right now when you look at yourself and don’t recognize yourself in that mirror, you are a mommy & you ARE sexy.

After all, that’s how we got these babies. 🥲
