Few days ago we received a call from the Bo Kenema Hospital referral Coordinator about a day old baby that was born with
a condition called Torticollis, which is a rare condition in which the neck muscles contract, causing the head to twist to one side.

For proper diagnosis and proper treatment she needs a facial CT- Scan and other lab investigations to be done, with these results her doctor will be able to proffer the right treatment.

Therefore, we are pleading with our kindhearted donors to come to the rescue of this young beautiful Baby Kanu.

The cost to cover her scan and other lab investigations is estimated at Seven Thousand Leones NLe 7,000.

The Sierra Leone Police has arrested two business women who were caught changing labels on expires drugs including Electroviral drugs.

Police report states that Memunatu Bangura and Aminata Kargbo were arrested in Waterloo while removing labels on HIV drugs and replacing it with Panadol labels.

The Report further that expired drugs were also relabeled as new arrival suitable for use for the next few years.

The United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has committed to providing financing to support the development of an 83.5 MW combined cycle thermal power plant, which will initially be fueled by liquefied petroleum gas before converting to liquefy natural gas, a cleaner and more energy-efficient fuel.

As Sierra Leone’s first large utility-scale independent power project, and its first ever gas-fired power project, this power plant is expected to increase the country’s effective generation capacity by about 75 percent and provide hundreds of gigawatt hours of power per year for homes, businesses, hospitals and health facilities.

In addition, this stable baseload power source will help contribute to the future integration of large-scale intermittent renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power, by providing a reliable counterbalance to consumers’ fluctuating power consumption on the electricity grid.

Sierra Leone’s Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced scheduled power outages in parts of Freetown due to the installation of a new power transformer.

In a public notice, Authority says the power outages are planned to ensure the safe and seamless integration of the new transformer into the network.

The outage will last for 3 days; Tuesday, 18th June, Wednesday, 19th June and Thursday, 20th June - 9:00am to 2:00pm each day.

Ghana's electricity company has announced a three-week power supply interruption due to reduced gas supply from Nigeria. The gas reduction, which began on Wednesday, is attributed to maintenance works being conducted by a gas supplier in Nigeria. The reduction has slashed power generation capacity across Ghana, prompting the need for load shedding, according to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). The West African country has battled power shortages, known as "dumsor" (meaning "on and off" in Akan), for years. Recently, hundreds of Ghanaians protested in Accra against the outages affecting businesses and daily life.
