HISTORY OF COOCH BEHAR RASH MELA
Rash Mela is the tradional and most ancient of all faris in Cooch Behar in West Bengal.Cooch Behar the Rash Mela set to celebrate the Sri Sri Madan Mohan Thakur, with colourful fairs that adrom the culture. In the long month the festival precedes the Rash Yatra, which is celebrated on the full moon day in Kartik month the celebration of the divine love of Sri Krishna and Radha. Rash Mela is the annual fair celebrated in Cooch Behar from a decade of 200 years back.
Hundreads of festivals are held every years to please the myriad deities worshipped by the Benhali people of the culture occurred in the past. The Raas Chakra is a structure built during the Rash Mela that id held in honour of Madan Mohan in Cooch- Behar. From the time of the Maharajas, the Rash Mela in Rass Chakra was mady by a Muslim gamily every year. The fair is held just loom from the Madan Mohan Temple.
This Raas Chakra a tall semicylindrical like structure made out of paper and bamboo symbolises brotherhood irresprcline og the religious fiversity. The Rass Chakra at the laun of Modan Mohan temple is being beautifully decorayed over genarations by a Muslim family.
The Rash Mela is decorations of ligjts and various types of sola made Ornaments are mesmerizing. The various pandals are being worshipped with the beating of Daker Saaj, special drums and tje music of flutes, banjos, mridangad and kartals that create spiritual divine expericnces.Culture programs are also being orgainized all throughout the days. The festival also prrsent various stalls foods, magic goods, Ornaments ect.

Manas National Park

Manas National Park is situated on the bank of the river Mans at the foothills of the Himalayas. The beautiful park earlier known as North Kamrup wildlife sanctuary is spread over an area of 519.77 sq km and was declared a sanctuary on December 01, 1928. it was established as the core of the Manas Tiger Reserve from April 1973 and elevated to the position of a National Park status on September 7, 1990. It is a well known World heritage site with it's unique combination of scenic beauty and rare wealth of wildlife. .

Manas is one of the nine tiger reserve sanctuaries in India. Other wildlife spices found in national park are Hispid Hare, Pigmy Hog, Golden Langur, Indian Rhinoceros, Asiatic Buffalo etc. other commonly seen animals are Elephant, Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Himalayan Bear, Wild Boar, Samber, Swamp Deer, Hog Deer etc.

Manas is 176 kms from Guwahati by road. The nearest airport is Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at Guwahati. The nearest railhead is Barpeta Road Station which is 40 kms away from Manas.
