There’s a new man at the house of . has been named creative director of the French maison, following Olivier Rousteing’s remarkable 14-year tenure. Having worked with everyone from Raf Simons and Nicolas Ghesquière to Demna, Tron became a fashion insider’s favorite with the launch of his label in 2016 and was featured in W before winning the 2018 Grand Prize (slide 2).

In a statement today, Tron thanked Rousteing “for building Balmain into the global brand it is today,” adding: “Balmain has a truly inspiring history. At its heart, the house embodies savoir-faire, culture, sensuality, and elegance—fashion that is radiant, precise, and bold. This resonates deeply with me, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to build on this incredible legacy.”

Tron will present his first collection for Balmain in March.
