*DGP J&K,Sh.Nalin Prabhat,IPS Visits Police Station Akhnoor, Presents Certificate of Excellence for Being Adjudged Best Police Station of J&K by the MHA.*

In a moment of great pride for Jammu and Kashmir Police, Police Station Akhnoor has been judged as the the Best Police Station of Jammu and Kashmir for the year 2024 by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

To commemorate the achievement, Director General of Police,J&K, Sh. Nalin Prabhat, IPS, visited Police Station Akhnoor and presented the *Certificate of Excellence* to the dedicated team. He was accompanied by *IGP Jammu Zone, Sh. B.S. Tuti, IPS; IGP CRPF Jammu,Sh.Gopala K. Rao,IPS;DIG JSK,Range, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS; DC Jammu Sh. Sachin Vaishya,IAS and SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh, JKPS.*

*Hon’ble MLA Akhnoor, Sh. Lal Bhagat,* also graced the occasion as a special guest. The event was attended by senior officers from the Army, BSF, CRPF, intelligence agencies, civil administration, along with Zonal SPs of Jammu, all SDPOs of District Jammu, and SHOs of the Rural Zone.

This prestigious recognition forms part of a nationwide initiative by the Police Modernisation Division of MHA, supported by the TransRural research agency. A total of 17,932 police stations across India were evaluated, out of which 76 were shortlisted based on stringent performance criteria.
Police Station Akhnoor secured its place among the top-performing stations in the country.

The initiative to recognize the best police stations was launched in 2015 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the DGP/IGP Conference held in Kutch, Gujarat. Since then, it has become a regular feature of the Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed at promoting excellence, innovation, and citizen-friendly policing across the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, *DGP Sh. Nalin Prabhat congratulated the Jammu Police team for this significant achievement and encouraged all officers and personnel to continue striving for excellence in service to the public.While presenting the award, the DGP lauded the exceptional performance of then SHO Tariq Ahmed, SDPO Mohan Sharma and SP Rural Sh.Brijesh Sharma,JKPS,SSP Jammu Sh.Joginder Singh,JKPS for their outstanding leadership and dedication in 2024.* He also extended his best wishes to the present *SHO Sanjeev Chib and SDPO Varinder Gupta* for continuing the legacy of excellence.

IGP Jammu Zone, Sh. B.S. Tuti, also congratulated the team of Police Station Akhnoor and urged them to maintain the same level of professionalism, commitment, and public service in the future.

This recognition stands as a testament to the hard work, discipline, and community-focused policing demonstrated by the officers and staff of Police Station Akhnoor, under the leadership of SP Rural Jammu and the overall guidance of SSP Jammu.

Vakil Singh Social Activist Urgent Appeal to Save the Village Playground in Basantgarh, Chakal

It is with deep sorrow and grave concern that I bring to your immediate attention the distressing situation regarding the playground constructed in our Tehsil Basantgarh and Village Chakal. This playground, built with great effort and community spirit, is officially registered under the RDD Department, and its development work is already underway.

However, it is extremely disheartening to witness certain BJP leaders, in collusion with the local Basantgarh administration, misusing their power to dismantle this vital community asset for their own vested interests. This betrayal directly undermines the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, who dreams of ensuring a playground in every village to secure the healthy development and bright future of our children.

Instead of realizing this vision, these individuals are doing the opposite — attempting to seize this land for personal gain. Clear videos and other evidence of this misconduct are available and can be shared with any authority that seeks the truth.

Through this appeal, I earnestly request the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, the J&K Government, and all concerned authorities to take immediate, decisive action to protect this playground from the clutches of the land mafia. This space is not merely a piece of land — it is a foundation for our children’s health, happiness, and dreams.

I urge you to intervene without delay, stop the illegal encroachment, and ensure that this playground is fully developed and dedicated to the children of Basantgarh and Chakal, as originally intended.

Your swift and just action will safeguard the hopes and dreams of countless children and uphold the Prime Minister’s vision for rural development and youth empowerment.

We trust that justice will prevail.

*Udhampur Police Busts Inter-State Gold Fraud; Accused Arrested Within 24 Hours*

On 14/07/2025, PS Majalta received a complaint from Smt. Bandana Rajput R/O Majalta, alleging that an unknown person posing as a gas stove repairman duped her by offering to clean her gold ornaments using chemicals, causing loss in weight.

Acting swiftly, FIR No. 59/2025 U/S 316(2), 318(2), 318(4), 324(4) BNS was registered at PS Majalta and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation the police team of PS Majalta led by SHO Majalta arrested the accused namely Subodh Sah R/O Bhagalpur Bihar within 24 hours.

Investigation revealed his modus operandi involved extracting gold content by dissolving it chemically while pretending to clean it causing loss in weight and secretly extracting the dissolved gold for himself.

He is suspected to be part of an inter-state gang. Further investigation is underway.
Udhampur Police advises the general public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

بسنتگھڑ کے کھنیڈ میں آٹو ڈرائیوروں نے ایک گھنٹے تک بس کو روک کےرکھا
پولیس نے اسے ہٹا دیا

۔ تحصیل بسنت گڑھ کے علاقے کھنیڈ میں آٹو ڈرائیوروں نے ایک گھنٹے تک مسافر بس کا راستہ روک دیا۔ اس دوران بس میں بیٹھے تمام مسافروں کو کافی مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ پولیس موقع پر گئی اور تمام آٹو ڈرائیوروں کو راستے سے ہٹا کر بس کو آگے بھیج دیا۔

بس میں بیٹھے مسافروں عمرالدین بابزادہ، محمد شبیر، محمد عمیم، رتنا چند، عابد حسین اور دیگر نے بتایا کہ ادھم پور سے خانید تک سیدھا راستہ ہے۔

بس کے مسافروں نے کہا، آٹو ڈرائیور بس کو چلانے کی اجازت نہیں دے رہے ہیں، ان کے خلاف کارروائی کی جانی چاہئے۔

بس سروس پچھلے کچھ دنوں سے چل رہی ہے لیکن بسنت گڑھ سے کھنیڈ تک مسافر آٹوز کے ڈرائیور بس کو چلانے کی اجازت نہیں دے رہے ہیں، حالانکہ مسافر بس پیر کی صبح 6:45 بجے کھنیڈ گاؤں سے روانہ ہوئی تھی۔ جب یہ سرہیل پل پر پہنچی تو آٹو ڈرائیوروں نے مسافر بس کو روک لیا۔

انہوں نے اپنی گاڑیاں بس کے سامنے کھڑی کیں اور ایک گھنٹے تک بس روک کر مسافروں کے پرمٹ کے بارے میں پوچھنے لگے۔ بسنت گڑھ پولیس کو جب اس کی اطلاع ملی تو پولیس نے تمام آٹو ڈرائیوروں کو سڑک سے ہٹا دیا اور مسافر بس کو جانے دیا۔

بس میں بیٹھے مسافروں نے اے آر ٹی او سے مطالبہ کیا اور کہا اگر دوبارہ مسافر بس سروس کو روکنے کی کوشش کی تو ان آٹو ڈرائیوروں کے خلاف کارروائی ہونی چائے۔ مکالم

*UDHAMPUR POLICE ATTACHES MOVABLE PROPERTY WORTH LACS OF NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLER UNDER NEW CRIMINAL LAWS*

As a part of its relentless effort against bovine smuggling in the district, Udhampur Police has attached a vehicle bearing Regd. No. JK02DA-8994 worth Rs. 10 lakhs owned by habitual Bovine smuggler namely Murad Ali S/O Nek Alam R/O Kadyal, R.S Pura, Jammu.

The case pertains to FIR No. 92/2025, registered under Section 223 BNS U/S 11 PCA Act of PS Rehambal. During the investigation of the case,the movable property was identified as proceeds of crime and was thus attached under section 107 BNSS after obtaining orders from competent court.

IGP Jammu inaugurates prefab Barrack at Police Station Bishnah

Jammu, July 14, 2025- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, inaugurated a newly constructed prefabricated barrack at Police Station Bishnah in Jammu District. The facility, created exclusively for the personnel posted at the station, is aimed at providing better accommodation and rest facilities for the rank and file deployed in tough and demanding field environments.

2. The IGP was briefed about the structural and functional features of the barrack, which has been equipped with essential amenities such as bedding, ventilation, washrooms, and power backup to ensure a comfortable and hygienic resting space for police personnel.

3. IGP emphasized the importance of providing dignified living facilities to the personnel who often serve in challenging conditions. He noted that such infrastructure not only boosts morale and operational readiness but also reflects the department’s commitment to personnel welfare. He lauded the efforts of the district police in ensuring timely completion of the project and called upon other police establishments to emulate similar standards.

4. The visiting officers also took a round of the Police Station and interacted with the staff. He reiterated that more such barracks and welfare-oriented projects are in the pipeline across the Jammu Zone under modernization and infrastructure development initiatives.

5. He also conducted a motivational counselling session for the newly inducted PSIs, encouraging them to pursue specialisation in subjects of their interest. The PSIs interacted with the IGP with enthusiasm and pledged to strive for excellence and bring laurels to the department. The IGP was accompanied by DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, SSP Jammu, SP HQ Jammu, SDPO RS Pura and DySP DAR Jammu.
