Neglected. Wrapped in crumpled paper at the bottom of the box.
I focused on the rare ones—glamorous, showy, expensive.
This one? Almost gave it away.
Then I finally unwrapped it… and it hit me like a dagger made of stars.

It’s brutal. Beautiful. A living relic.
Don’t sleep on the ones you almost toss.

The coquí’s singing, the leaf is holding on… and so am I.

This leaf holds light like it’s been through something.
Veins like stories.
And that coquí in the background?
Still singing—no matter how much spray they waste.
