📢 We are delighted to announce that Prof. Dr. Luhua Lai from Peking University, China, will serve as a Keynote Speaker for the session on “AI for Drug Discovery” at the 5th Medicinal Chemistry Symposium ( ): New Trends in Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery, which will be held in , China, from May 14 to 17, 2026.

🎤 Prof. Dr. Luhua Lai is a professor at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University, the director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry, the deputy director of the Center for Quantitative Biology, and a senior investigator at the Peking University - Tsinghua University Center for Life Sciences. She has been appointed as a Chang Jiang Scholar (an esteemed title granted by the Ministry of Education). Her research primarily applies physical chemistry, computational and experimental biochemistry, and medicinal chemistry approaches to study proteins and the life processes they are involved in. She aims to uncover the relationships between protein sequences, structures, and functions, explore the mechanisms of biomolecular interactions, conduct protein structure and function design, and carry out research on structure-based and systems-based drug design methods and their applications.

His research focuses on the biosynthesis of natural products, including the establishment of metabolic pathways, elucidation of novel enzymatic mechanisms, and key scientific theories and methodologies for the industrialization of bulk antibiotic products.

🎤 Prof. Christophe Rochais is a professor in organic chemistry at the University of Caen Normandy, and a member of the French National Academy of Pharmacy. His research interests include medicinal chemistry programs in the field of enzymatic inhibition and receptor modulation, aiming to develop pharmacological tools and bioactive compounds. He leads a research group dedicated to developing polypharmacology approaches for the treatment of neurodegenerative and infectious diseases.
