🌟 Keynote Speaker Announcement – Session 4 🌟

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Mònica Campàs, researcher at the Marine and Continental Waters Program of IRTA, as the keynote speaker for Session 4 on 10th September.

Dr. Campàs is an internationally recognized expert in the development and application of biosensors and biotechnological tools for the detection of toxins, microalgae, viruses, and bacteria. Her research focuses on innovative approaches such as electrochemical biosensors, immunosensors, lateral flow assays, cell-based platforms, and colorimetric assays, with applications in food safety and marine monitoring.

She has published over 100 articles and 14 book chapters, co-edited a book on marine toxin analysis, and has led 13 research projects. She has supervised 5 PhD theses, with 3 more currently in progress, and serves as Executive Editor for Analytical Biochemistry (Elsevier) and Scientific Reports (Nature).

🌟 Keynote Speaker Announcement – Session 5 🌟

We are thrilled to welcome Professor Collin Berry, Professor of Biochemistry at Cardiff University, as the keynote speaker for Session 5 on 10th September.

Prof. Berry is a globally recognized expert on bacterial insecticidal proteins and their applications in the biological control of agricultural pests and insect vectors of disease. He has made significant contributions to understanding the specificity and mechanisms of these proteins, using advanced techniques such as X-ray crystallography, XFEL, and cryo-electron microscopy.

His research also explores mosquito behaviour and responses to semiochemicals and artificial feedants, making his work pivotal in both fundamental science and applied pest control strategies. Prof. Berry has an extensive publication record, serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, and has held leadership roles in the Society for Invertebrate Pathology.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Andreas Rummel, PhD, Senior Group Leader at the Institut für Toxikologie, Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (Germany), as the keynote speaker for Session 1 on 10th September.

Dr. Rummel is an internationally recognized expert on clostridial neurotoxins, with over 50 peer-reviewed articles, 13 reviews/book chapters, and multiple patents to his name. He has co-edited Botulinum Neurotoxins, serves on the board of the International Neurotoxin Association, and is an editor of Toxins. Beyond academia, he frequently speaks at international conferences and acts as a litigation expert for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

His research focuses on:
