📑 A Study of the Sorption Properties and Changes in the Structure and State of the Ti-25Al-25Nb (at.%) Alloy System Under Thermocyclic Loading
📚 By Yernat Kozhakhmetov and colleagues

This study is focused on the sorption properties and the changes in the structure and state of Ti-25Al-25Nb (at.%) system alloys under thermal cyclic loading. These samples were produced by combining high-energy processing methods through mechanization and spark plasma sintering in the temperature range of 1100–1300 °C, followed by two-stage heat treatment at temperatures of 800 °C and 1250 °C.

📑 Preparation of Iron-Based Metallic Powders by the Electroplasma Method
📚 By Nurtoleu Magazov and colleagues

In this work, the production of iron-containing powders by the electroplasma dispersion method was investigated under various discharge regimes and in electrolytes of different natures (NaCl and Na2CO3). The influence of technological parameters on particle morphology, phase composition, and elemental content was analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS), as well as laser particle size distribution analysis.

📑 Ferroaxial Property Under Hybrid Skyrmion Crystals
📚 By Satoru Hayami (Hokkaido University)

The ferroaxial moment, a time-reversal-even axial dipole degree of freedom, plays a key role not only in conventional quantum states of matter but also in anomalous off-diagonal cross-correlated responses. Here, we theoretically demonstrate that a skyrmion crystal with a swirling non-coplanar spin texture can exhibit ferroaxiality.

📢 We are delighted to announce the completion of the Crystallography of Enzymes

Just as Francis Crick, one of the greatest biologists, once said: "If you want to understand the function, study structure." Currently, X-ray crystallography remains the favored technique for determining enzyme structures. X-ray crystallography has been widely utilized to elucidate the atomic details of catalytic mechanisms and conformational changes in enzymes, such as active site binding to substrates or inhibitors. Such structural insights inform biology and biomedicine. Although many enzyme structures have been determined in the past several decades, more remain to be elucidated.

Thus, this Special Issue welcomes structural biologists and biochemists to provide their views and perspectives on the crystallography of interesting and novel enzymes.

📑 The Influence of Pressure on Magnetite–Zinc Oxide Synthesis in Hydrothermal Conditions
📚 By Miruna-Adriana Ioța and colleagues (National R&D Institute for Non-Ferrous and Rare Metals - IMNR / Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București)

The combination of ZnO and Fe3O4 nanoparticles represents a synergistic strategy for the treatment of skin cancer, exploiting both oxidative stress-induced cytotoxicity and hyperthermic effects for improved anticancer activity. These nanoparticles also function as drug carriers, facilitating targeted delivery and reducing systemic toxicity. Furthermore, controlled-release systems activated by external stimuli, such as light, pH, temperature, or magnetic fields, optimize the accumulation of the drug in tumor tissues. In the present study, Fe3O4-ZnO composite powders were synthesized in aqueous solution through the hydrothermal method under high pressure and temperature.
