WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS A COUGH, GIVE THEM THIS...
Cold & cough season is back again 😭 Calm down moms, not everything needs medicine right away.
Food can help too! Here are 4 natural foods that can help soothe your child’s cough:
1. Honey Water 🍯
For kids 1 year and older
Honey has been trusted for ages to coat a sore & itchy throat. Its antibacterial + anti-inflammatory properties can help ease nighttime coughing. How: 1 tbsp of pure honey mixed in warm water. Give it before bed.
2. Kiwi 🥝
Small fruit, big benefits! Kiwi is packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants. It helps boost your child’s immune system so they recover faster. Soft texture and sweet-tangy taste = kids usually love it.
3. Red Guava 🍈
The Vitamin C champion! It even has more than oranges. Red guava also contains tannins that can help relieve phlegmy coughs. Cut into small pieces so it’s easy to chew. Bonus: great for digestion too.
4. Strawberries 🍓
Kids can hardly say no to this one. Besides being delicious, strawberries are high in Vitamin C, manganese, and antioxidants. They help fight free radicals + support immunity so the cough doesn’t last long.
✅ Important note:
This is NOT a replacement for medication from your doctor. If the cough lasts >1 week, there’s high fever, or difficulty breathing, please consult a pediatrician immediately.
And remember, honey is only for kids >1 year old due to the risk of botulism.
