Vista x64’s new single Swimming Pool is a rage-fueled frenzy that captures the collision between delusions of grandeur and self-assured indifference. Building on Vista x64’s established art-rock nervous energy, the song incorporates linear dance music elements to push the band’s sound into new territory.
Inspired by the ancient anecdote of Diogenes of Sinope’s meeting with Alexander the Great, the band modernizes the encounter with sarcastic undertones. Driven by a grooving rhythm section, harsh guitar and saxophone textures, and unhinged, off-kilter screams, Swimming Pool embodies the inherent inconsistencies of a life of wealth, ease, and the burden that comes from self-appointed superiority.

📻❤️Jon Hood’s LP 𝑷𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 was reviewed by and added to their rotation. The album also received airplay on other wonderful indie and college radio stations such as , , New York, Raleigh, San Antonio, Claremont CA, , Nantes & Hamburg.

Given Silver Firs’ often rather cryptic songs, the story behind Linen and Tears is surprisingly intimate: singer Elmiger wrote it as a lullaby for his young daughter. However, the song ended up having a rather impractical, energizing effect on her.

Lyrically, the track is just as unguarded. Linen and Tears stands as a candid ode to love and emotional overwhelm.
