We’re slowly but surely getting into the party spirit! On August 1, Switzerland celebrates its birthday, and we’re joining in the fun!
Come check out the beautifully decorated little houses and celebrate with us at Cholplatz! Please be aware of the general ban on open fires and fireworks. You’re welcome to join us in watching the safe lake fireworks display!

To celebrate Switzerland’s birthday (1 August), let’s come together at Cholplatz Brienz:

Cholplatz Brienz Program:

4:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Small food stand

4:00 PM – midnight: Bar service

7:00 PM: Alphorn players & flag-wavers

8:00 PM: Keynote speech by Simon Kunz, President of Brienz Tourism

8:00 p.m. Musical entertainment with Ad hoc

9:50 p.m. Lake fireworks display (weather permitting)

Important note: Setting off fireworks (including small firecrackers) and rockets, as well as other pyrotechnic devices, is generally prohibited throughout the entire canton—even outside the fire-restricted zones. It is also generally prohibited to release sky lanterns and to light bonfires or August 1st bonfires. The fireworks display on the lake is permitted and will take place if the weather is good.

9:30 p.m. Burning Swiss torch cross on the “Burg” rock ledge (weather permitting)

9:50 p.m. Lake fireworks (weather permitting)
