Es war ein langer Weg, bis die heutige Ausgabe von W*p Bop A Loo Bop (ab 19 Uhr auf Drift.FM) endlich stand. Ich hatte eigentlich eine Weihnachtsausgabe geplant und dafür sehr schöne und selten gespielte X-Mas-Songs ausgewählt.
Dann der erste Schock am 8.Dezember. Raul Malo starb an den Folgen seiner Krebserkrankung. Ich schrieb die Sendung um. 2 Stunden Malo, 1 Stunde X-Mas. Ich habe Raul Malo mit und ohne Mavericks ca. 50 Mal live gesehen. Er war für mich sehr wichtig.

Dann genau eine Woche später der 2. Schock. Joe Ely, der geniale Singer-Songwriter aus Texas verstarb ebenfalls. Ely war einer der Hauptgründe, weshalb es mich überhaupt 1999 auf die Sandy Beaches Cruise zog. Also, Weihnachten raus aus der Sendung und Joe Ely rein. Und das ist dann auch die Sendung, die ich für heute vorbereitet habe.
