The Foundation intends to promote the development and deepening of relations between business leader

The first effect of the extraordinary development of the Indian economy has been to allow tens of millions of people to escape poverty, but it has also had the direct result of increased confrontation between the new Indian economy built on services and the mature economies of Switzerland and the countries of the European Union. Naturally, it is business leaders who are at the forefront in a compe

tition that should benefit equally in India and Europe. The Foundation was born out of an alarming conclusion reached by a certain number of observers and economists on strengthening protectionist measures adopted by many countries in recent years. It is in this context that, in 2012, the WTO announced figures for growth in world trade that were significantly lower than the average of those observed over the past twenty years. The debates and discussions that we had very often conducted in Switzerland among experts in Indo-European relations were behind the creation of the Indiary Foundation in the same year. The Foundation's primary mission is to strengthen all initiatives to achieve a balanced free trade of goods and services in compliance with international commitments made by India, the European Union and all other European countries, including Switzerland. With this goal in mind, the Foundation intends to promote the development and deepening of relations between business leaders of European countries and India. The directors and leaders of our Foundation have been chosen for their knowledge of the institutions of these two major regions of the world. They all have experience and expertise in economic and political relations between India and Europe.
