From Philanthropy to Innovation: the Same Love of Humanity

A few days ago, I had the great pleasure of meeting Christian Tohmé 🇨🇭🌍. This encounter reminded me how essential it is to smile at the unexpected, to take a step aside, and to create connections with no other interest than that of humanity itself.

Thank you again, Christian, for this inspiring conversation, where we realized that perhaps we are all philanthropists without knowing it. The world would no longer need “philanthropists” in the classical sense if everyone simply lived out this love of humanity already rooted within them, whatever their experiences and activities.

In this spirit, I was touched by Christian’s remark in his LinkedIn post (attached) about how much he appreciates our Curriculum Vidae (CVD) application. I don’t take it as a technical compliment, but rather as a sign that innovation can also serve this everyday philanthropy: giving people the chance to present themselves as they are, with authenticity, so they may be better understood and more warmly welcomed.
Another inspiring Christian, Christian Bobin, once wrote:
“Nothing is more beautiful than meeting someone who was not expecting you.”

De la philanthropie à l’innovation : un même amour de l’humain
J’ai eu le grand plaisir de faire la connaissance de Christian il y a quelques jours. Cette rencontre m’a rappelé combien il est essentiel de sourire à l’inattendu, de faire un pas de côté et de créer du lien sans autre intérêt que celui de l’humain.
Merci encore Christian pour cette discussion inspirante, où nous avons réalisé que nous étions peut-être tous des philanthropes qui s’ignorent. Le monde n’aurait plus besoin de « philanthropes » au sens classique, si chacun exerçait simplement cet amour de l’humain déjà ancré en lui, quelles que soient ses expériences vécues et ses activités.

Dans cet esprit, je suis touché par la remarque de Christian qui dit combien il apprécie notre application CVD. Je le prends non pas comme un compliment technique, mais comme un signe que l’innovation peut aussi servir cette philanthropie du quotidien : donner aux gens la possibilité de se présenter tels qu’ils sont, avec authenticité, pour être mieux compris et mieux accueillis.

Un autre Christian inspirant, Christian Bobin écrivait :
« Rien n’est plus beau que d’aller à la rencontre de quelqu’un qui ne vous attendait pas. »

👋🎥 Une belle collaboration de CVD - Curriculum Vidae avec Université de Fribourg/Universität Freiburg et Fribourg Tourisme et Région : tournage des vidéos du Newbies Tour pour préparer en vidéo l’accueil des nouveaux étudiants.

📸 Avec Jessica Zizza nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à tourner ces vidéos d’accueil.
Un grand merci à Ibrahim Nimaga pour son soutien, ainsi qu’à l’Université de Fribourg et à l’Office du tourisme de la ville de Fribourg pour leur confiance.

👉 Les vidéos seront diffusées en septembre dans le cadre du Newbies Tour, une initiative qui aide les nouveaux étudiants à découvrir la ville et à s’intégrer rapidement à la vie universitaire et culturelle de Fribourg.

En lisant ton post, Donnelly, j’ai tout de suite pensé à mon propre parcours. Je me suis lancé dans ma cinquantaine — un âge où l’on sent un peu les années… mais où l’on garde un esprit jeune et l’expérience qui peuvent vraiment aider pour créer quelque chose de nouveau.

Pour Elodie et moi, ce “quelque chose” est devenu CVD — une application propulsée par l’IA qui aide à créer en quelques minutes des vidéos professionnelles pour la marque employeur et la marque personnelle. Nous l’avons lancée imparfaite, écouté les retours, amélioré pas à pas… et, petit à petit, elle a grandi avec de beaux partenariats, comme par exemple la plateforme d’emploi leader en Suisse JobUp JobCloud SA | jobup.ch - jobs.ch.

Mais attention : séduire, ce n’est pas jouer un rôle.💡 Se présenter, ce n’est pas faire semblant.
