Geneva Junior Music Competition is an international online music competition with the overarching goal to inspire and challenge young talented musicians from all around the globe and to help them launch their international careers. Cash prizes will be awarded with prizewinners benefiting from media visibility on our online social media platform and support in the development of their career throug

h participation in concerts as well as establishing networking links with agencies and festivals. The grand winners will be invited to perform live on April 25th 2024 during the Gala Concert in the prestigious and internationally renowned Victoria Concert Hall of Geneva.

We are pleased to share the information regarding our Gala Concert | Geneva Junior Music Competition. The concert will take place on April 20, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Victoria Hall in Geneva.

The evening will feature prize-winning young musicians from around the world, accompanied by Sinfonia Valais-Wallis, conducted by Laurent Zufferey.
We are also honoured that this year’s patron, Stéphane Lambiel, will be present for the concert.

Tomorrow, the final of Prodiges will be broadcast on France 2, featuring an outstanding young musician: cellist Lyam Chenaux

Lyam took part in the Geneva Junior Music Competition, where he was awarded First Prize (Category D) as well as the Grand Prix Virtuoso !!

We are incredibly proud to see our Grand Prix shine on such a prestigious stage.

🎉 Public Choice Award 🎉

On this December 29, the Public Choice Award of the Geneva Junior Music Competition has been awarded to the Opifex String Quartet (Slovenia)!quartet

With more than 1,600 likes on their YouTube video, they clearly won the hearts of the public through their outstanding performances.

✨ The Opifex String Quartet will be featured at our Gala Concert at Victoria Hall on April 20, a special evening not to be missed.

Lyam Chenaux(Switzerland)

He made his first solo appearance at the age of 10 with the Budweis Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of David Svec. It was there that he met Denis Severin, who has since become his teacher (HEM Genève-Neuchâtel). Since then, he has collaborated with numerous orchestras.
Lyam has won the Swiss Music Competition in all categories (solo, early music, composition and trio) as well as dozens of international competitions and special prizes, including the Classicalia finals in 2023, and the “International Cello Competition Popper” in Hungary.
In 2025, Lyam won first prizes and special prizes at the Young Musician Tallinn Competition and the David Geringas International Cello Competition (Lithuania). He represented Switzerland and Liechtenstein at the Thomas Kuti Prize in Dublin, where he was a finalist and won a special prize.
Lyam joined the LGT Young Soloists virtuoso ensemble at the age of 12 (dir. A. Gilman) and made his debut on the major international stages.
Since 2025, Lyam has been a scholarship holder at the Liechtenstein Academy of Music.
Lyam Chenaux plays a Guadagnini cello generously loaned by Adopt a Musician.
In addition to music, he enjoys cycling, watches, chess, political science, and motorsports.
