“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
🤍🤍🤍
A dear family friend shared this quote, and I knew I had to share it. For me, this is the part of forgiveness, compassion, healing, and moving forward that tends to be get left out.
It’s not just about acceptance of the past. It is also about starting again where you are, with what you have in front of you.
It’s about taking the experience with you, in that it gave many lessons to you as well.
It’s also about knowing how an experience can define you, or a time in your life. And also, how one experience doesn’t define you either.
Many times, the work of integration is realizing the wholeness and nothingness that exists simultaneously.
This can mean everything, and also, very little.
It can be who you are, and also, who you’re not.
It can be their problem, and also, a problem for you.
It can be a big ending, and also, a beginning.
It can be “the best of times” and also, “the worst of times.”
This reconciliation that is done throughout a lifetime is the work of integrating into this human (af) experience.
So as we wrap up this calendar year of 2020, what are you integrating over these next two weeks?
Remember, you can always decide your next move xx
