🔔The International Sports Press Association (AIPS) is thrilled to announce the launch of the 8th edition of the AIPS Sport Media Awards, the highest accolade in the sports media industry.

🏆From today until 4 November 2025, sports journalists, photographers, and broadcasters from around the world are invited to submit up to two entries for consideration in the world’s most prestigious sports media competition. All submissions must have been published or broadcast between 5 November 2024 and 4 November 2025.

🏆On this special day that we are 101 years old, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the 8th edition of the , the highest accolade in the sports media industry.

📆From today until 4 November 2025, sports journalists, photographers, and broadcasters from around the world are invited to submit up to two entries for consideration in the world’s most prestigious sports media competition. All submissions must have been published or broadcast between 5 November 2024 and 4 November 2025.

💵 Each eligible category offers an original trophy and prize money as follows:
Winner: USD 5,000
Second place: USD 3,000
Third place: USD 2,000
This applies to the following categories:

Photography (“Sport Action” and “Portfolio”)
Writing (“Best Opinion Column” and “Best Colour Piece”)
Audio
Video (“Athlete Profile”, “Documentary” and “Short Feature”)

In his message for World Sports Journalists Day 2025, AIPS President Gianni Merlo reflected on the current delicate global context and its impact on sport, emphasising the need to strengthen journalists’ cultural education and to defend the universal values of sport against the risks of corruption, misinformation and technological challenges such as artificial intelligence.

Dans son message à l’occasion de la Journée mondiale du journaliste sportif 2025 et du 101ᵉ anniversaire de l’AIPS, le président Gianni Merlo a souligné l’importance de renforcer la formation culturelle et éthique des journalistes sportifs dans un monde de plus en plus incertain et politisé, où le sport reflète les tensions globales.
