BLAST FROM THE PAST-
Hello Music Friends
Way Back in the fall of 1968 British rock band recorded the ground-breaking first LP " Led Zeppelin I "
John Bonham, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones
Now, 47 years later, I have attempted to re-create the classic track from this album " Communication Breakdown "
my first concern besides capturing thier energetic performance, was to capture the vintage sound and tones..
making it as close to the original as possible.
This was'nt easy as I performed ALL the instruments and vocal tracks by myself in my studio- The Blast Zone.
I recorded all the tracks total of 21 on my Mackie D-B 8 automated mixer, then onto my Mackie hdr. recorder.
to be true to Jimmy Page's guitar tone -I played my Fender Telecaster 1952 reissue, ( for the solos I played my 1974 Fender Telecaster).
I actually used a Black star 1 watt amp, miked close with a SM57, this small amp was in a isolation box-
total recording time was completed in only 5 hours!
mixing time was - 3 hours
so it's a one studio day wonder...
and being a Led Zeppelin fan all my life pratically...it was a labor of love.

I hope all you Led Zeppelin fans enjoy my authentic re-make of Communication Breakdown,
I am kinda proud of it as, when Led Zeppelin recorded this song, they were all young men, and there was 4 of them in the band...me, I'm 54 years young and recorded everything by myself, ( and yes they are real drums done in 3 or 4 takes 🙂

Eliot Chambers, has been a working musician/ multi instumentalist/songwriter for over 40 years, he moved to Switzerland in 1995..in 1999 he produced his first cd “Eliot-Rock Is Not Dead”! recorded in Bern at The Rainbow Studio, after that, he went on to record 10 more full album length cds, Eliot recorded these cds at various studios in Switzerland, and the U.K.- studios like - Schweinen sound-Luzern, Fool Park Studio- Kriens, The Joker Studio- Schlieren, Backyard-studio- Bern, The Hut in Guernsey-U.K. Channel Islands. in 2014, Eliot aquired a used Mackie DB8 mixer and Mackie 24/96 hard drive recorder, he began to learn and work with this cool recording system, his first recording studio located in Mägenwil, was called “The Blast Zone” there he produced demos for Swiss metal band “The Final Crusade” he produced 3 cds- “The Revolution Of Truth”( metal/hard Rock) “Fat Wallet” ( funky blues rock) and “Joe Bandit - I like Tennessee” ( country album)
in 2017 Eliot, relocated his studio into his home, coverting his 2 car garage into- “The Knucklehead Garage Studio” the studio has a great design and the sound is very good, the acoustic drum sound is great, the control room is spacious and comfortable.
