EU elections can have limitless lists
There can be two votes in the next EU election, if the European Parliament gets
what it wants. But the member states seem to resist. And the Swedish members
are skeptical.
With a narrow but clear majority - 323 votes against 262 and 48 abstentions -
the parliament in Strasbourg has voted through its proposal for new election
rules for the EU elections in 2024.
Biggest difference: the desire to give each voter two votes instead of one.
In addition to the usual voting for a domestic party from their own country,
they also want to introduce an extra constituency with common candidates from
all countries.
