Silent Whale Becomes A Dream - North (2023) - Elusive018

And here we are... at the final release of Elusive Sound.
The journey that began in 2015 with an EP is now ending with an EP.

"North" is the call for a change, a definitive point and the swan-song for the collaboration with Elusive Sound. On the B-side, Architeuthis in a remastered form is embracing the listener.

"From the deep quiet sea, we are now moving and shifting to where water mirrors the sky and to where a new journey will soon begin."

Elusive Sound breaks tradition with this release, and marks the end with a black record. Limited to only 50 units and called "Reynisfjara", a final slipcase made in Switzerland as well as an exclusive multi-layered inlay accompany the EP. Another 50 units were sold without slipcase, as well as a deluxe-color-schemed edition called "Oceanus" in a limited 300 pressing.

Silent Whale Becomes A Dream - Canopy (2022) - Elusive016

Silent Whale Becomes A° Dream’s debut album “Canopy” is an unforgettable and awe-inspiring instrumental rock masterpiece of majestic depth consisting of four long atmospheric tracks fuelled by orchestral expansiveness, soaring guitars and intense melodies that induce powerful emotions and a dreamlike state at every listen.

Yannick Tournier’s pristine production only further empowers the high-reaching capabilities of this imposing band that truly lives up to their name.

And because of that, it has deserved a reissue! On a one-time pressing in three different variations, we once again used the space of a triple gatefold to do the music justice. The /100 edition called "Dawning Sun" included a Swiss-made slipcase.

This remains the only lacquer-based pressing on Elusive Sound.

Trna - Pattern of Infinity (2022) - Elusive017

An absolute classic and banger of St. Petersburg based TRNA filled a pressing spot-gap from earlier and came to be an exquisite one-time pressing for us.

Released in a small 250-pressing, we made two variants, /100 and /150 with a blank D-Side (Elusive Sound first!). The limited-100 Saturnia edition featured a French-made slipcase with numbering and holographic "infinite pattern" as well as hot-foil. Both variants quickly sold out.

Obvious "did-you-know?": The pressing plant's audio engineer masterfully brought the music to vinyl and slightly altered the tracks by adding a tasteful fade-out.

BLAK - El Tall D'Escil·la (2022) - Elusive014

New album. New music. New live.
In 2022, Blak returned with a new album, El Tall D'Escil·la ("Scylla's cut"). With an album art concept by DSorder, we couldn't just put it in a regular gatefold. Oh no - the album received an overall "deluxe"-treatment with every variant.

A gatefold with a third flap, a downwards-folding panel, the art expanded into the third plane and revealed a cube. The /100 "Minos"-variant additionally featured a slipcase made by Le 7 Oeil, including a glow in the dark screeprint and of course, handnumbering. Following up after a very short pre-order period (quickly sold out!) was a repressing called "Nisos" in a bright pink tone.

Obligatory "did you know?": The pressing plant had to "invent" this triple gatefold layout for us, as it isn't any of the standard offerings. They executed it beautifully.

Show Me a Dinosaur - Dust (2020) - Elusive013

"Dust", the debut album of Show Me A Dinosaur, was released on the same day as Somn - The All-devouring. It was the first instance of us releasing an album in a one-time fashion with no repress planned.

Their debut album struck me as enormously worthwile and it was very important for me to press it on vinyl. With a remastering under the hood and some awesome new artwork, we managed a double 45 RPM record in two variants, one limited to 100 units including a spot varnished art print and an equally beautiful limited 400 variant.

In the same fashion as Somn, both releases were insanely delayed on the delivery from the plant due to the pandemic. It was Elusive's slowest year.

Somn - The All-devouring (2020) - Elusive012

We continue on our label retrospective and go back in time to 2020 - a year we all want to forget for the most part. I looked up the gap between Elusive011 - BRUIT ≤ 's Monolith and now Somn's The All-devouring and was stunned by the long time in between - but then remembered, there was a certain pandemic.

But we persevered and made new releases happen!

The All-devouring saw a deluxe edition called "Exsanguination" featuring two ready to frame archival art prints and artworks by Mladen Ilic, printed locally in Switzerland. Next to that, the first press included an icy looking variant called "Phantasm".

Furthermore, two different repress schemes were released, an "Ashen Breath" and a "Frozen Breath"-edition.

This is another "did you know?"-moment - the pressing plant used various amounts of coloring and inadvertedly created two very distinguishable records of similiar pressing number
