Week 12 Part 4 and my wallpaper is finished!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

I’m so happy to finally have a room decorated! I feel this room delivers on being perfect for Beau as she turns 15 but will also work well as a spare room if she flies the nest in a few years. It’s in keeping with my Edwardian Townhouse and I love the colours. This wallpaper can not thrive without being paired with beautiful paint colours - the woodwork in Shingle Street, ceiling in Hare’s Tail (enhanced) both by make this room flow in a way that just white ceiling and woodwork wouldn’t! Well that just my opinion so let me know what you think?

Week 12 Part 3 - A Scary Basement & More Beautiful Wallpaper

Having the kids helping is amazing and we even got an extra pair of hands in my friends son Charlie. The basement needed to become my tool storage space because I will soon need to kitchen to be my actual kitchen and the dining room needed to be clear so the boiler can be installed.

We are now starting to use a lot of my stash of .uk products and they are bloomin’ brilliant! The discovery of this sticky backed paper has made both Richard and I very happy 🤩🤩 - thank you .uk for collaborating with me on this project ❤️

The wallpapering continued and I was feeling pretty proud that I managed to negotiate some really tricky features of this bedroom and still kept the pattern exactly where it should be. The laser level was key to this, always use a snapping blade stanley knife and keep refreshing the blade every few drops, use plenty of wallpaper paste, particularly on a very hot day like I had!

So many have said you love this (Fleurettes) wallpaper as much as me! My other piece of advice is to always co-ordinate your wallpaper with the right paints # colours, don’t just go white ceilings and skirtings. If you send your wallpaper to Anna at she can advise you on which colours work well and this is one of the many great things about versus the huge paint brands, the customer service is like nothing else!

Week 12 Part 2 and FINALLY WE HAVE WALLPAPER - but do you find it too busy?

Firstly my kids got up to no good while I was busy elsewhere so I had to include it because it was too good not to, don’t you think?? 😂😂

Massive thank you to my friend Jen who worked her butt off on her day off and I’m so grateful to her for being so amazing, it’s things like that that give you a huge boost and she will never know just how much she helped me mentally and physically that day.

I’m so happy to show you the wallpaper that I’ve chosen for Beau’s bedroom, she actually had a huge hand in making this choice, the stunning Fleurettes by - it’s a beautiful floral pattern and it goes so perfectly with my Enhanced Hare’s Tail ceiling paint and Shingle Street by and I’m so happy with how it looks on the wall but let me know what you think….isn’t too busy for you? Check back in the next reel to see the finished room 😍

Week 12 Part 1 - I’ve made a big discovery and I’ve only got 1 week left until we have to move in 😱

I would love to dig out this basement and make a room for my gym equipment and a kids games area but I don’t have any budget for that at all so unless someone wants to come and do that for me as a collab, that will remain a pipe dream 🤪

I was tempted not to publish this reel because I’m worried it’s boring but I also feel it’s important to show the realistic journey which is hours and hours of painting, prepping, more painting, sanding in between, mistakes, caulking and more bloody painting before the fun really begins with the wallpaper - but let me know, was this reel just too repetitive - should I be jumping to the good stuff?

Week 11 Part 3 - Are you ready for my colour choices?

First up I’m making progress with my skirting board from after a very valuable lesson from on how to do internal skirting board cuts because just doing a 45 degree angle never quite works….a few attempts later and it’s not looking too shabby 😍

Choosing your colours to compliment your walllaper is the difference between a room with nice wallpaper and a room that really comes together so this green from called Shingle Street is the icing on the cake for my interior decor choices in Beau’s bedroom. Her wallpaper is too beautiful to just stick a white skirting board and ceiling next to it, don’t you think?

Finally I’ve chosen my colours after lots of help from Jess and I’m going for the GREEN for the front room which is my Skye E700 and then for the back living space I’m going for Almond for the C-5 Duo - what do you think? I’m then going to build my room colour choices around my stoves 😍

Up next …..it’s time to wallpaper! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Week 11 Part 2 FABULOUS FLOORS & FIRELACES

Huge thanks to for coming to help fit my flooring from on the top floor, it’s looking great and feels like we could actually sleep in here now….which is more than I can say for the rest of the house 😂

Richard made great progress on the Alcove bed - follow his new Instagram where you will shortly see loads of amazing beautiful things he has built

Downstairs progress is being made to make this the cosiest space with the addition of two beautiful logburners which are being installed by - they’ve supplied me with wonderful slate hearths and helped me pick out some gorgeous surrounds by which look really smart and perfect for the house 😍 (ad:gifted)

Now I need to decide what to do with the inside of the fireplaces, I’m thinking paint so I can change it as and when I want to - what do you think?

Week 11 - Part 1 and a mistake due to lack of planning costs me time and money! 🫣

I do however get a few days of My love, Mickaël from (who had a great Reno channel so check him out) who has been amazing at helping me get the wood flooring down!

I keep cleaning up, it keeps getting messy, so I’ll keep clearing up 😂😂😂

But upstairs does feel like it’s starting to come together

Week 10 part 2 and it’s time to rip out my fireplaces and I’m so relieved that the entire process has been taken out of my hands by who will be fitting every part of my two - all I have to do is choose the colours now that I’ve chosen the two stoves I’m having!

The team have been nothing short of amazing, Jess is so knowledgeable and helped me choose the right stoves, Heath and surround and the team were in and out in now time doing part 1 of the install. Check back to see my hearth and surround choices and some challenges we had getting the flues down 🤪

Please let me know the colours you’d go for in the comments 😍

Week 10 Part 1 - Finalising colours with Anna from

Every week in grateful that Anna agreed to collaborate with me on this Reno which means I need to mark this is Ad:gifted but it’s important you know that I wouldn’t use any other paints, ever, because not only are her colours incredible but you won’t find a more helpful team who will support you in finding the right colour choices for your room. Pairing paint well with wallpapers makes ALL the difference in how that wallpaper will look in your room so my advice is to really take your time and select ceiling and woodwork colours that will make the most of your wallpaper choice. I have gone with two stunning wallpapers in each of my girls rooms,

In Beau’s room wallpaper in the design Fleurettes in the colour Pompadour paired with Hare’s Tail Enhanced for the ceiling which Anna’s mum has tweaked to be the perfect match to the background of the wallpaper. Shilling Street for the woodwork and Dusky Linen for her bed and side table shelving.

In Esme’s room Wilderness in Shell Pink paired with Gypsum on the ceiling, Patina for her bed and Powder for her wardrobe.

(Ad:gifted for both wallpapers)

richardjamescabinetry has been working hard on Esme’s alcove bed and it’s really coming together….there really isn’t anything this man can’t make!

Should I swap with Esme and steal this bedroom? 😂
