We’ve just concluded our annual congress in beautiful Zagreb, where over the past three days, representatives from 18 countries came together to exchange knowledge and strengthen networks around assistive devices, accessible tourism, and transport.

These vital discussions are already helping embed learnings that will improve the lives of people with spinal cord injuries across Europe.

Tuesday, March 11th, 2pm: ESCIF Forum about the involvement of consumer associations, services and benefits the rehabilitation units offer in Italy.

The Forum will be presented by Elisa Marino, a Faip representative and expert on the rights of people with disabilities. Faip (Federation of Italian Associations for People with Spinal Cord Injury) is an association founded with the aim of building a bridge between the needs, rights, and aspirations of people with spinal cord injuries and the real possibility of regaining the dignity to live privately and in the community like all other citizens.

The Forum will talk about the functioning of spinal cord unipolar units in Italy and the benefits of these units for people with spinal cord injuries. Spinal cord unipolar units are multidisciplinary departments, dedicated to the rehabilitation and overall habilitation of people with spinal cord injuries.

The aim of the Forum is to explain how the consumer associations are involved, what type of service and benefits the units offer to rehabilitate persons with SCI and enable them to life an independent life.
