🔃 As we all wish each other a happy new year, let’s reflect on what actually makes us happy. My happy place has always been in the presence of our planet’s wild-hearted denizens. When I am truly open to the wonder and beauty of our living world, I cannot help but feel overwhelming hope for the future. This 2023 I’m looking forward to a new year and a new chapter for SeaLegacy. Our small-but-mighty organization is venturing to broader horizons (both figuratively and literally) as an official 501c3 non-profit. Our heart and mission remain true to protecting our ocean for both the planet and people, and it is thanks to you that we have already moved mountains in the world of conservation to achieve that dream. “The Last Survivor” is an immersive documentary film scheduled for film production in spring 2021, produced by Cinematics, written and directed by Cedrik Strahm and Martin Ureta and edited by Joshua Preiswerk, tells the story of the delicate cohabitation between man and wildlife. From the forests of Europe to the Ethiopian highlands, their survey leads them to meet two divisive species: the common grey wolf - Canis lupus lupus and the Ethiopian wolf - Canis simensis - the most endangered carnivore in Africa.

After years of waiting, we are very happy to finally be able to share with you our new documentary project "The Last Survivor".
We launched a crowdfunding campaign to help us finish the movie. We explain more about it in this short video with some nice shots at the end.

🐺 Behind the Scenes with
🔃 I took the carbon fiber gimbal head last weekend for a test. I mounted the Canon 400mm 2.8L lens with the BMPCC4k and Metabones adapter. The behind the scenes shots were done with a Canon EOS R by , the wolves shots were done with the Canon 1DX MarkII and the Canon 400mm 2.8L.

🔃 Ok guys, here are all the images of one of the most incredible wildlife encounters. I had a lot of people telling me the shot was fake but I hope this sets the record straight.
🦈 I’ve never shared all these images before. Taken at Red Bluff in this is one of my favourite camping places and somewhere I’m dying to get back to.

🔃 LOVE IS IN THE AIR / This facial expression is the reaction of a male black crested macaque to a female backing up to him and presenting him with her hindquarters. That behavior is seen in many monkeys: It is a way for a female to invite a male to mate with her. And, as you can tell from his grin, the male certainly understands the intention.

🔃 Capturing moments frozen in time. That’s one thing I love about wildlife photography, that is unique to shooting still images as opposed to motion. Don’t get me wrong, I love filming as well, and capturing a full sequence of animal behavior is really satisfying to pull off, and fun to watch. But freezing a moment in time as a still image accomplishes something different and special. The images can stick in your brain for years.
