In 1986, New York City was the absolute epicenter of a radical, genre-blurring explosion in experimental jazz. Irène Schweizer was there soaking up this raw energy and she brought it home to a captivated audience in Zurich. This recording captures a New York long since gone, allowing us to travel back to a city full of contrasts … make some time for this today.
