Dear DJ friends & fans,

Chicago is home to some of the most legendary DJ's and producers, and Paul Johnson is undoubtedly one of the most renowned figures to emerge from the birthplace of house music. It is no coincidence that his name was the first to be mentioned in the Daft Punk song "Teachers," as he was a major source of inspiration for Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

Of the approximately 100 releases he put out during his music career, "Get Get Down" is by far his most successful record. The international House Music hit reached the top five in the UK Singles Charts, as well as reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Charts in December 1999.

To breathe new life into the track, which is nearly 30 years old, I added numerous percussive Latin Tech House elements and re-played the main piano melody. The unmistakable vocals are original and still set the tone.
