We are Team Tumult, a collective of animators, artists and storytellers based in Zurich, Switzerland. Every story needs its own approach. Got a project in mind?

We are Team Tumult, a collective of writers, directors, animators and illustrators based in Zürich. We write and produce visual stories for clients who give us the opportunity to create something unique. Whether it's handdrawn animation, live action, stop-motion, motion graphics or illustration,
our team strives to find the right visual language for each and every project. Each of us has a differe

nt view on things, which keeps our work diverse and fresh. In the end we are linked by wanting to create good stuff. And if a project should need heavy lifting, we can rely on our vast network of talented friends with all kinds of backgrounds. Or just the spark of an idea? Short films, animations, adverts, music videos, illustrations, scripts or only a storyboard. We're always on the lookout for new projects and collaborations.

Challenges in Character Design 💡

For almost two years, we worked on creating the educational series for the Ceasefire Project by the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) and the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. The films explain how ceasefires are used as essential tools in global conflict resolution strategies. 🕊️

The challenge was to depict complex diplomatic processes through easily understandable animations without losing important nuances. We developed a visual language for abstract concepts such as political trust and negotiation dynamics—areas where small differences can have a big impact. One of the most demanding aspects was designing neutral characters that could represent any conflict party worldwide while remaining appealing and open to interpretation.

🤝 New Work 🤝 „Understanding Ceasefires“ 🤝
Für das Ceasefire Project des Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) und des Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich haben wir eine 8-teilige Erklärvideo-Serie produziert. Der umfängliche Videokurs erklärt, wie Waffenstillstände als wesentliche Werkzeuge in globalen Konfliktlösungsstrategien eingesetzt werden und richtet sich an eine Vielzahl von Stakeholdern wie Konfliktparteien, Mediatoren und Friedensstifter.

Vielen Dank an Govinda Clayton, Simon J Mason, Claudia Wiehler & Valère de Riedmatten für das Vertrauen und für diesen spannenden Auftrag. In den fast zwei Jahren Produktionszeit haben auch wir sehr viel über die Challenges der Mediation gelernt. 🙏
