🌟 64th FIF General Assembly: a key date announced!

Gathered this Saturday, 30 May 2026 at the headquarters of the Ivorian Football Federation, the statutory members held the 64th Ordinary General Assembly of the governing body of Ivorian football.
On the agenda: review of reports, the 2024–2025 activity report, and discussions on development prospects for Ivorian football.

📌 Major decision: the Elective General Assembly is scheduled for 12 September 2026.
An important institutional milestone for the renewal of the FIF’s governing bodies, in accordance with the statutory provisions in force.

🔵 The Executive Director of WAFU‑B took part in the proceedings, demonstrating the commitment of CAF West B Zone alongside the FIF in strengthening regional football governance.

The practical arrangements and detailed timeline of the electoral process will be communicated later by the competent bodies of the Ivorian Football Federation.

🌟 64ᵉ Assemblée Générale de la FIF : une date clé annoncée !

Réunis ce samedi 30 mai 2026 au siège de la Fédération Ivoirienne de Football, les membres statutaires ont tenu la 64ᵉ Assemblée Générale Ordinaire.
Au programme : examen des rapports, bilan 2024‑2025 et perspectives pour le développement du football ivoirien.

📌 Décision majeure : l’Assemblée Générale Élective est fixée au 12 septembre 2026.
Une étape institutionnelle importante pour le renouvellement des instances dirigeantes de la FIF.

The Cheetahs are in camp at the Novotel in Cotonou.

U‑17 AFCON – Quarter‑finals: Morocco vibrates, Africa roars

The quarter‑finals of the U‑17 Africa Cup of Nations delivered their verdict in Morocco, after intense matches full of lessons. Among the standout fixtures, the clash between Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt particularly drew attention.

Facing a solid Egyptian team, the young Elephants showed courage and determination, but eventually fell 4–1. The Pharaohs opened the scoring in the 38th minute through Ahmed Beshir, before doubling the lead just before halftime thanks to Khaled Mokhtar (45+2). After the break, Côte d’Ivoire reduced the gap with a penalty converted by Broulaye Cissé (54’), reigniting hope among the Ivorians. But Ziad Soudi, in the 84th minute, definitively sealed the outcome by scoring Egypt’s fourth goal.

Despite the elimination, Côte d’Ivoire leaves this U‑17 AFCON with honor, after a campaign marked by strong performances, notable tactical discipline, and a fighting spirit worthy of respect.

As the representative of the WAFU‑B zone, Côte d’Ivoire can hold its head high. This continental experience is an important step in their development. The work continues, the future is promising, and West Africa remains proud of its representative.

Les quarts de finale de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations U17 ont livré leur verdict au Maroc, au terme de rencontres intenses et riches en enseignements. Parmi les affiches marquantes, le duel entre la Côte d’Ivoire et l’Égypte a particulièrement retenu l’attention.

Opposés à une solide équipe égyptienne, les jeunes Éléphants ont fait preuve de courage et d’abnégation, mais ont fini par s’incliner sur le score de 4 buts à 1. U‑17 World Cup Qualifiers: Uganda eliminates Ghana after a suspense‑filled match

In a high‑intensity duel counting for the U‑17 World Cup qualifiers, Uganda caused an upset by eliminating Ghana after a match full of twists and turns, decided in a penalty shootout (8–7), following a 2–2 draw at the end of regular time.

Very proactive from the start, the Ghanaians quickly took the lead thanks to Eric Gyamfi, who scored in the 9th minute. Solid in their organization and technically sharp, the Black Starlets controlled the rhythm for a long stretch. But Uganda, far from giving up, showed great character. In the 34th minute, Owen Mukisa brought both teams level again, completely reopening the match.

At the start of the second half, Ghana regained the advantage. Wunzlalgu Abdul Latif restored the lead in the 51st minute, bringing the West African side closer to qualification. However, Uganda’s determination eventually paid off. In a dramatic ending, Arafati Blanda converted a penalty in the 90+2nd minute, securing an unexpected equalizer.

The decisive penalty shootout ultimately went Uganda’s way, more clinical and composed (8–7), thus securing their ticket to the U‑17 World Cup at the end of a cruel scenario for Ghana.

Despite this elimination, WAFU‑B wishes to salute the courage, commitment, and quality of play shown by Ghana, whose young team proudly represented CAF Zone West B and demonstrated promising potential for the future.
