powerful statement, highlighting that Africa's exclusion from permanent membership on the Security Council undermines the credibility of the UN and is unjust, particularly in light of the continent's significant challenges
with instability. His comments come as Russia, a permanent member of the Security Council, has been advocating for an African seat. Taking into account Russia's ongoing solidarity with Africa as equal partners.

Kenya President William Ruto threatens to pull out from United Nations.

"You cannot claim to be the United Nations while disregarding the voices of fifty-four nations, it is impossible. Africa will no longer remain on the margins of global governance while decisions on peace, security, and development are made without our perspectives and our voice.
Excluding Africa is not only unacceptable, unfair, and grossly unjust, it undermines the very credibility of this organization. Africa dominates much of the Security Council’s agenda, provides some of the largest contingents of UN peacekeepers, and bears the heaviest costs of instability. Yet, we remain the only continent without a permanent seat."

Prominent politician and leader of the citizen movement Stand Up for Cameroon Edith Kah Walla is demanding that the Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji be restrained from “all operational involvement in the electoral process”. This is because his dual role as central committee member of the ruling CPDM party compromises his independence to act as supervisory authority in the 2025 presidential election.

To ensure the integrity of the upcoming vote, Kah Walla is also demanding that ruling party members or former members in Elecam or the Constitutional Council be replaced.

In a strong-worded statement shared with MMI, the 2011 presidential candidate decried that the CPDM party continues to have an oversight on ELecam, MINAT and the Constitutional Council— institutions responsible for organizing, supervising and proclaiming election results.

She says this compromises the transparency and integrity of the presidential election, where incumbent President Paul Biya seeks to extend his rule to 50 years.

Kah Walla is also demanding that the result proclamation period be shortened from the 15 days allowed by the Electoral Code to a maximum of 72 hours to reduce chances of fraud.

She also demands for an electoral ceasefire in the Anglophone Regions, to enable residents freely participate in voting, as separatist groups threaten to disrupt the eections

Singer Simi reveals why she stopped being savage on Twitter

She says that Twitter is no longer how it used to be in the past.

Nigerian singer Simi has opened up about her shift away from her previous knack for witty, savage comebacks on Twitter, attributing it to changes in the platform's culture over time.

The singer appeared as a guest on the recent episode of the Zero Conditions Podcast, where she spoke about her music and the music industry as a whole.

When asked about why she stopped being savage, Simi clarified that her intention was never to be intentionally savage but rather to respond authentically. She said, "I feel like I still am sometimes; maybe it's because I'm not on Twitter as much as I used to be. I don't see it as being 'savage' because my goal is not to be savage.

She added, "Sometimes people see your response and are always like, 'You're always clapping back,' but compared to how much stuff you see online, I hardly ever reply honestly."

In between laughter, Simi revealed that she is just as witty in real life as she is online. "That's how I am in real life, though; I'd say I'm very quick with it. If someone says sorry, I would say sorry for yourself; I'm a joker as well," she said.

She concluded, "Twitter isn't the way it used to be; it used to be better. I don't think it's because people are now awake, though. I feel like Twitter has become a competition for who can be the most toxic or the loudest person and I don't have fun with it like I used to. Now I hardly go on it."

“I will forever be grateful to Tekno. He brought me back on the top. My hit song, ‘IF,’ was entirely written by him. I didn't have a hit song for over a year. Then one day, Tekno called me and said, “Davido, I have a hit song for you ooo.’ I didn't take him seriously and was busy enjoying myself in a club.

One day he called, then came to the club and dragged me to his house just for me to go and record that song. There is a Tekno version of 'IF,' but he decided to allow me to take the song, and that is how I came back with a hit song.

I've never seen anybody want me to do a song like Tekno. Till today, I still call him to thank him for what he did for me back then. He's my brother” — Davido showers praises on Tekno for writing his hit song ’IF.’❤️

Tekno had the song already recorded but still called Davido to sing it with his own voice. You have to respect him for that.
