1) MENAI

Menai is considered a very ancient element of authority, serving to express and implement the impersonal authority of Tifuan (Tifwan) and to exact tribute. In the distant past, menai was authorised to seize recalcitrant offenders under customary law. The individual was given a length of bamboo wrapped in a rope to carry and a red feather placed in his hair to indicate that he was the property of the fon, and then sold into slavery. This account reflects practices current in the nearby chiefdom, but in the immediate precolonial period, such offenders in Babungo were executed by the feather terror ask of Tifuan called MOBU and not sold into slavery.

DO YOU KNOW THAT

Eight chiefdoms said to have banded together with Balikumbat to attack BABUNGO comprised Bamunka, Baba, Bamali, Bamessing, Kom, Big Babanki, Small Babanki, Balicashu, and Bambalang. These were set-price battles, almost certainly infrequent, where the intention was to reach the palace and seize the Family and material wealth of the Fon.

Babungo had dominated in the iron work and had many weapons and was undefeated. Never been defeated by any chiefdom, according to a legend.

Our artist, Mkong Gladys, has been a powerful ambassador for Babungo culture through his traditional gospel music. His unique sound and heartfelt performances have garnered him recognition not only within the Babungo community but also beyond, celebrating our cultural heritage in a genuine and impactful way. Gladys is known for his unwavering dedication and hard work, and it's clear he deserves the spotlight. Babungo music has truly reached a global audience, opening doors for the richness of our traditions.

I am reaching out to the Vedca executive team with a heartfelt appeal to consider inviting Mkong Gladys to perform at the next annual event. Such an invitation would not only showcase his talent but also serve to further promote and expand our Babungo culture through music. It's worth noting that other communities, such as Nso, consistently support their artists by providing opportunities to perform, while our village has yet to see similar recognition.

Let’s make a collective effort to ensure this message reaches the national Vedca team. We believe that featuring Mkong Gladys could foster a greater appreciation for Babungo culture and inspire future generations. Thank you for considering this important opportunity.

Queen Ranin Ishanke Ngwana excels, kisses an 84% Excellent grade A, to return home with a Master's degree from the University of Bamenda.

" The senate accepted your work, especially as it focuses on an organisation like the CRTV. The Jury decided to award you an 84% score..."
These beautiful words were echoed at the end of a public defence ceremony at the University of Bamenda by a high-level academic jury comprising Professor Njimanted Godfrey as president, Professor Kenmengni Guy and Doctor Forbe Hodu, Examiner.

During the exchanges that lasted longer than expected, Queen Ranin Ishanke eloquently dissected and defended her thesis that bordered on the topic " The effect of procrastination on employees' performance: the case of CRTV Mballa 11."
Queen Ranin Ishanke has not only made the kingdom proud, but her achievements also align with his majesty vision of empowering women and the girl child in Babungo. As we celebrate our Queen, our eyes and ears are now focused on Queen Edna for another master piece

Pioneer Vengo Queen to defend a Master's degree in business administration from the Higher Institute of Commerce and Management of the University of Bamenda. Hurrah!!!.

Coming on the heels of a Royal visit by His Highness to the USA after a very successful convention. What a beautiful way to receive your husband, our esteemed Ruler

Congratulations, Queen Ranin Ishanke. The Vengo people are so proud of you. Keep soaring.

Greetings from His Royal Majesty, the Fon of Babungo.

On behalf of the Fon, I would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all individuals and organisations who have contributed in various ways to the development of Babungo. Your support has been invaluable in helping our community grow and prosper.

We are excited to announce a significant upcoming project in Babungo that will require the collective effort of all residents. This initiative includes the construction of essential infrastructure such as bridges 🌉 and the tarring of key roads. Specifically, we aim to pave the road from Abakwa to the palace, enhance the route from the market to Nkoneh, and improve access from the market down to Three Corners and from there to the hospital.

These infrastructure upgrades are crucial for the development of Babungo and will greatly enhance transportation and accessibility within our community.

Together, we stand for truth, love, peace, unity, and development. Let us rally behind this project to ensure a brighter future for Babungo!
