North West: Soldiers Invade PCSS School Premises Few Days To Resumption
Cameroonian soldiers reportedly from Koutaba in the West Region have occupied several classrooms at the Presbyterian Comprehensive Secondary School, PCSS, in Azire.
Their presence in the school compound comes a few days before the resumption of the 2024/2025 school year in the country.
In a voicenote making rounds on social media, the Mezam South Presbytery Secretary raised serious disturbing concerns which he thinks the military presence may disrupt the smooth resumption.
"Firstly, it is going to disturb our pupils or even students of PCSS Azire and parents who would have come to look for admission. Secondly, schools will be reopening. How will the children come to school with this kind of atmosphere? How can the military come and occupy the classrooms?", he said in the audio reportedly forwarded to the Church hierarchy.
The military armed to the teeth has been occupying the PC Azire church compound since last Saturday.

Cameroon: Samuel Eto’o Laments Repeated Fights, Blackmail On His Work

"In Cameroon today, I would say we find ourselves with a phenomenon, robbers (liars). People who say everything and it’s the opposite. Today, they tell you; ‘Samuel did this, this and this’. But when the truth surfaces, they contradict themselves every time. And that is very dangerous. Sometimes people say to me: ‘how do you manage to put up with all that?’ ! Well, that because I know where the truth is. The biggest problem is explaining to people, because you lose too much energy in small fights and in big fights, you no longer have enough energy to attack them. You are confused with stories, manipulation… Precisely, these robbers who are in the pay of everyone, who say everything and its opposite, that’s where I remain lucid. You can all be against me, as long as I am with the law and I follow my project, you will ask me to give an account to you at the end of my mandate”.

Africa News: Burkina Faso Nationalises Two Gold Mines After Stiff Legak Battles
Until Tuesday 27th August 2024, the Boungou and Wahgnion gold mines in Burkina Faso were owned by an African mining company.
However, Ouagadougou has agreed a deal to nationalise the mines for around $80 million.
Endeavour Mining, which agreed to sell Boungou and Wahgnion to Lilium last year for more than $300 million, had accused its rival of missing payments.
Meanwhile, Lilium argued that London-listed Endeavour had misrepresented and hidden financial information about the mines.
However, as part of Tuesday's agreement, the companies are to abandon their legal cases against each other.
Endeavour said it would 'like to thank the Government of Burkina Faso for its mediation efforts'; Lilium and Burkina Faso's junta have not commented.
The nationalisation follows a growing pattern of African governments, especially those under military juntas, attempting to exert greater control over their natural resources.

Cameroon: Actress, Kentsop Orgelle aka Mami Ton Dies Fighting Stroke
Cameroonian female comedian and actress Kenstop Orgelle popularly known as “Mami Ton” has died, Laarry News Room has confirmed.
Mami Ton, died on the night of Wednesday, September 4, 2024, after almost two weeks of battling with high blood pressure and stroke at the Douala Regional Hospital.
She was known for her unique acting skills especially playing the role of pompous “Belle-mère”.
Before her demise, the hospital bills of the popular actress were paid by President Biya.

Cameroon: PM Ngute Says Namibia-Cameroon Clash Shall Play in Garoua
In addition to this decision that works favours Fecafoot and goes contrary to that of the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, the head of government expressed hope that other Cameroonian cities will enjoy similar privileges, given their international-standard stadiums.
Dr. Ngute urged all parties involved to work towards the success of the encounter programmed for September 7, 2024.

North West: Full Gospel Pastor, Rev Mbakwa Shot to Dead by Gunmen in Bamenda
Rev Mbakwa Alfred, a pastor with Full Gospel Mission has been killed.
The man of God who doubles as a teacher was shot by armed men at his residence in Mile III Nkwen in Bamenda III Sub Division in the North West region this evening of Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
Report reaching Laarry News Room says he died on his way to the hospital.
No group has taken responsibility for the act. At the moment no clue has been reached to unravel the reasons for his close-range killing.
Rev Mbakwa was the Pastor of Full Gospel Church at New Road also called Town Green and also the Board President of Carmel Cooperative Credit Union located at Cow Street in Bamenda.

North West: Lady Who Died After Suffering Second Decree Burns Buried
Anifatou Ngoran, a victim of a brutal attack who later on died after succumbing to second-degree burns has been laid to rest.
The lady was buried in a native Nkar village in Jakiri Sub Division in Bui Division in the North West region on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
The beautiful lady whose life was cut short because of a land dispute between her and the neighbour was buried a few hours after the Tamjong Devine, who poured fuel on her and set her ablaze has been arrested.
Report says he was arrested in Ndu village in Donga Mantung Division trying to escape.

Cameroon: FIFA Recommends 2015 Convention Revision Biding Fecafoot & Sports Ministry
The Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot has called on the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education to revise the 2015 convention signed between FECAFOOT and the Ministry of Sport.
The one-page circular signed by Fecafoot's Secretary General insists that the amendment must be done within the shortest possible time. He added that the latter simply stated recommendations as suggested by the International apex body FIFA.
Though the Lions are currently camping in Yaounde, it is still unclear if the match between Cameroon and Namibia will be played in Yaounde or Garoua.
Namibia emissaries are already in Garoua to prepare the groundwork for the eventual arrival of the Namibian players and technical staff.

Cameroon: Indomitable Lions Conclude First Training Session Ahead Namibia Clash
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon had their first training session ahead of the Namibia clash in the hours ahead.
The international footballers arrived at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Annexe stadium on board Musango Bus.
Meanwhile, Pierre Kunde Malong whose name is not on the list of the 24 Indomitable Lions called for the encounter is present in the den
He was among the 24 players who participated in the first training session.
Despite the ongoing controversies surrounding the stadia to be used for the encounter, the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot has announced ticket sales for the Cameroon-Namibia match on September 7, 2024.
FECAFOOT has maintained that the game shall be played in the Garoua Roumde Adjia Stadium as it announced 6 sale points for the match tickets.

North West: >Breaking< Boy Who Escaped After Roasting Neighbour to Death Arrested In Ndu
Tamjong Devine, the young man who supposedly killed the neighbour by name Ngoran Anifatou has been arrested, Laarry News Room has confirmed.
We gathered that the lad was arrested in Ndu Sub Division in Donga Mantung Division in the North West region early this Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Devine, the close neighbour to Anifatou, had an argument concerning a piece of land their landlady instructed her to farm a land that was previously being cultivated by Devine.
Though the landlady informed him to stop using the land since then Devine did not stop attacking Anifatou until Sunday, September 1, 2024, that he set her ablaze with the aid of fuel at their neighbourhood in Mile Six in Nkwen.
Report reaching us says before neighbours could intervene, the fire had already covered a great portion of her body and she died yesterday Monday, September 2, 2024, after being rushed to the hospital.

South West: Amba Ambush Leaves Taxi Driver Dead, One Taxi Razed
A taxi driver has been killed and his taxi burnt to ashes after an attack carried out by an Ambazonia Group called Fako Black Tar in the South West regional chief town, Buea.
According to an eyewitness, the happened in Mile 16 Bolifamba in the early hours of Monday, September 2, 2024.
In a video making rounds on social media, a taxi is spotted from a distance set on fire with the lifeless body of the driver lying next to it.
