Balikumbat is a subdivision in the North-West region of Cameroon, in the Ngo-Ketunjia Division. Balikumbat was founded by Galabe, the fourth son of the powerful chief Bali Chamba Gawulubi, who left his father's empire after his death in 1830. Balikumbat is known for its powerful chiefdom, whose famous Fon Doh Gahgwanyin III reigned from 1977 to 2012. The actual Fon of Balikumbat is Doh Gah Nyamnyin III.

Balikumbat subdivision has a number of villages, including Balikumbat (village), Bafanji, Baligansin, Baligashu and Bamunkumbit.

Balikumbat is bordered to the east by Lake Bamendjing, an artificial lake on the River Noun that holds back water to regulate production at the Songlulu and Edea dams. The shores of the lake are an important agricultural basin.
