PC Day, Ntanche Parish Celebrate In Pomp
Christians from Akwena Prayer Cell and PC Ntanche that makes up the parish started arriving As early as 7:30 am at PC Nywnche, the venue for the celebration of the 68 edition of the PC Day
The day started with a Bible quiz involving all the groups of both congregations and the YP and Sunday School on the book of Titus.
This was followed by procession into the church yard from two different directions.
Reflecting on the theme "there is strength through stewardship" the Rev. Veumo Zachaus drawing inspiration from 1 Peter 4:10 reminded his flock that many people, lazy ones in particularly want to live a stress free live, one with no problem, challenges and difficulties. He enjoined them to step out of this comfort zone and grow in their conviction towards the word of God, urging them to find time to pray, forgive one another and show love.
To the PCC that turn 68 years of autonomy from the Basel mission, the path has not been an easy one he said, enumerating challenges the church has gone through with different factions trying to split the church, the huge debt owed government, elections crisis, the house of truth and others have tried and failed to bring the PCC down on it's knee.
But thanks to its conviction and firmness on the word of God and great leadership, the church has withstood all the challenges and continues to move on even stronger. He called on the Christians to own the church as theirs and defend it just like generations before now.
The second part of the celebration started with the congregational chairman reading the Moderator's message.
This was followed by the cutting of the PCC anniversary cake.
Other activities that highlighted the day included egg race, YP displays, singing by all the groups and others.
The day ended with general feasting .
