Miss Intelligence Abakwa 1st Runner-up 2024, Queen Maken Kelly Bright participated in a project carried out by an organization called organization,on both free blood screening and sensitization of the community through the sickle cell marathon.This activity was done both in city of Douala and Yaounde from the 17th to the 21st of June,with the aid of Dash TV to easily spread out the information, hopefully they'll be extending to Bamenda.
She expressed:"Everyday children are being born with this disease which causes anguish and pain to families, Sickle cell is a genetic and very unbearable disease caused by genotypes , and many of our youths are unaware of this disease , it is usually hereditary, I will advice young youths to go for compatability test and know their genotypes inorder to prevent the suffering of an innocent child.To love is to prevent, to love is to protect , to love is to get tested".
