Now she earns 470,000 naira monthly writing sales blog posts, and emails for these busy business owners in the USA. She works 4 hours daily.
The travel agent who promised Chisom a Dubai job?
His own sister returned from there last month. Exploited. Abused. her Passport confiscated and Salary withheld.
Meanwhile, Sandra buys groceries without checking prices. Inflation doesn't scare her anymore.
"My boss can't cut my pay," Sandra explains. "I have 10 clients now. If one leaves, I find another."
I showed Chisom how to start. She created accounts on online job platforms. She practiced by rewriting local ads, got testimonials and built a small portfolio.
Now Chisom shops with without having to worry about rising prices. No more tears at the market. No desperate plans to leave her children behind.
Rising prices still exist. They just don't matter as much when your income can rise faster.
The most valuable asset isn't a foreign visa. It's a skill that pays regardless of economic conditions. A skill that will remain with you even if you decide to travel, but not out of desperation.
