Les candidatures pour la 97ème édition des Oscars dans la catégorie « longs métrages internationaux » sont désormais ouvertes au Cameroun.
Le Comité de sélection du Cameroun était constitué par la Cameroun Film Industry (CFI), un organisme cinématographique agréé par les Oscars.

Le Comité a été constitué selon les critères des OSCARS suivants :
1) La majorité des membres sont des cinéastes,
2) Le nombre de membres du comité est supérieur à cinq (5), comme stipulé par le règlement des Oscars,
3) Tous les membres du Comité sont des citoyens camerounais,
4) Aucun membre du Comité n'aura de relation professionnelle avec un film considéré pour la sélection officielle.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Submissions for the 97th edition of the Academy Awards in the “International Feature Film” category have now been opened in Cameroon to all film makers nationwide.

ELIGIBILITY:
For details on the eligibility criteria and rules for the international feature film category of the OSCARS, please check out the following link: https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility

SUBMISSION PROCESS:
To submit your film to the “Cameroon OSCARS Selection Committee” for consideration, either;
1) Electronically; send an email containing a downloadable link to your film to: [email protected] You will receive an acknowledgement email. Or,

2) Physically; post or deposit your drive with movie at the committee office at P.O. BOX 1023, BONJO STREET, in LIMBE Cameroon, or P.O. BOX 146 Buea in Cameroon.

The latest date for submission is 20th September 2024. You will be contacted by the “Cameroon OSCARS Selection Committee” if there is an update or for further information.

Rules and guidelines on the Formation of the “Cameroon OSCARS Selection Committee”:

The Cameroon Selection Committee was constituted by the Cameroon Film Industry (CFI), a film organization approved by the Academy Awards.
The Committee was constituted as per the rules of the “International feature Film Award selection committee guidelines” ( https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility ) to select and submit the best film for Cameroon using the following committee criteria:

1) Majority of the members are filmmakers,
2) The Committee members are above five (5) as stipulated by the Academy Awards regulations,

3) All Committee members are Cameroonian citizens,
4) No Committee member will have a professional relationship with a film that is considered for official selection.
5) No committee member has served for more than six years without taking a 2 year hiatus.

The Rules and guidelines on the Operation of the “Cameroon OSCARS Selection Committee” goes thus:

1) A public announcement for submission of films with a link to the guidelines for Academy awards and a deadline for submission is made on official CFI social media handles of the Cameroon Film Industry and shared on all other CFI online platforms including the official -CFI website: www.cameroonfilmindustry.com and other approved CFI bloggers .
2) After the deadline, the selection committee proceeds to download and assemble all the movies submitted.
3) The selection committee proceeds to analyze all metadata of films collected as per the OSCARS guidelines for eligibility.
4) They would then move on to organize and program private screenings for all eligible films which are viewed by the committee members ONLY.
5) After the screening, each committee member selects their best 3 films and submit to the committee President.
6) After getting the top 3 films selected by all members, there is an open discussion to select the best film to be submitted for Cameroon.
7) The selected movie to represent Cameroon will then be announced on 30th September 2024
