FIRST LOOK: MEDIAN'S FACE — AND THE MAN WHO NEVER GAVE UP ON HER
For years, Median lived with the destruction a bullet left on her face — shot at 15, in the middle of Cameroon's Anglophone Crisis. This week, for the first time since her latest major surgeries, Ayah Ayah Abine shared a new photo of her face, taken as her reconstructive treatment continues in Asia. "Finally, MEDIAN's face," he wrote.
This didn't happen by accident. Ayah Ayah Abine has stood by Median through a 15-hour-38-minute marathon surgery that rebuilt her jaw bones, worked on her ENT tract, built her a nose, and partially reconstructed her mouth. Weeks later, she began breathing through her nose and mouth again — faster than doctors expected. None of this comes cheap, and none of it comes easy. Through the Ayah Foundation, he has carried her case from Cameroon to Asia, kept the public informed at every stage, and kept the support channels open (GoFundMe, MoMo, Orange Money) so ordinary Cameroonians and well-wishers abroad can be part of her healing. This is what an NGO model built on one man's commitment looks like — no big office, no noise, just years of showing up for one person's life. And Median herself — a young woman who could have disappeared into her injuries, who chose instead to keep going through pain, through operation after operation, through a face the world hadn't seen in years. That is not a small kind of strength.

**Verdict A:** Ayah Ayah Abine is proof that one committed person can carry a cause further than most institutions ever do.
**Verdict B:** Median's fight shows that survival itself can be the loudest form of resistance.
